"Sully" invited to the Inauguration by Barack Obama
Monday, January 19, 2009
In a culmination of two great success stories, Barack Obama and who would have ever known Captain Chesley Sullenberger of U.S. Airways, known as "Sully", will attend the Presidential inauguration. In a personal conversation with the pilot who successfully landed a commercial jet in the Hudson river last week, saving hundreds of lives, Barack Obama has invited the national hero to Washington, D.C. Sully and the entire crew most likely will attend. As expected, Sully hasn't flown since the crash landing, but it is expected that he will return to work after a full investigation regarding the accident is completed.
The wreckage of the aircraft has been pulled from the Hudson river, and both 'black boxes' have been recovered in excellent condition. After reviewing information taken from the black boxes, it has been confirmed that within 3 minutes of takeoff, a flock of birds, possibly geese, struck both engines, crippling the aircraft, initiating the crash landing in the Hudson river. The conversations of both pilots have been recorded, and it reiterates the calmness of the captain and the crew. I wonder if Sully will get a chance to fly Air Force One someday.. Just a thought!!!!
