Presidential Support for a Democratic Candidate

Since the announcement that Joe Biden will not run for President of the United States, one can only now wonder if he would have run, if he actually could have been the Democratic nominee. The race on the Democratic side is very tight, with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders virtually in a tie up to the next debate that will air tonight on NBC, running up to the caucus states of Iowa and New Hampshire. But who will Barrack Obama support for the next Democratic nominee for President? The jury is out so far, but obviously the President will be rooting for a Democratic nominee for the party. But would he openly do so? One stipulation that he made to support a candidate would be their willingness to promote gun control. The White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in August that he "would rule out the possibility of an endorsement," according to 'The Daily Caller News Foundation" article dated 10/13/2015 until the nominee for the party is known.
