Senate Vote on the Spending Bill Stalled until Monday

Saturday, December 13, 2014

Today, the U.S. Senate was supposed to vote on the funding bill which is supposed to carry the government for the next year. The vote has been extended until Monday. What is the reason for the delay? Most everyone assumes that the votes are there, and the Senate will pass the bill so that the legislation can go to the President's desk for signing. The President has already stated that he is in favor of the existing legislation that has just passed in the House, so I fully expect him to sign off on the bill.

Still, Senators such as Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren, and others in the tea party such as Michelle Bachmann, and Ted Cruz, are in the record for opposing the bill The spending bill, now also calls for the rolling back of the Dodd-Frank bill, which now is being called a very bad bill by very concerned Democratic and Republican Senators.

There are a number of reasons why the bill is considered tainted, and that outrage about it is rampant in the Senate. It is not known how the bill will fare when it is voted on by the Senate.

Here are the three main reasons why the spending bill MUST fail....

First, there is a section of the bill, with a title  of "Prohibition against Federal government bailouts of swapped entities" which in other words means that the banks such as Citigroup, Morgan Chase and Bank of America will once again be able to make incredible risky investments. If they win, they make allot of money, but if they loose, the taxpayers of this country bail them out. For one thing, this is totally crazy and I still do not understand why the House passed such a bill.

Second,  this bill which is a one trillion dollar bill, 60% of this discretionary money is slated to now go towards military spending. Never mind about the country's infrastructure, or that kids cannot afford to go to college, or child care is a total disaster. This is the same military that cannot even account or audit its own budget.

Third,  there is language in this bill which repeals a 40 year old Federal law protecting workers pensions. If this bill goes through, millions and millions of workers with 20, 30 and maybe 40 years on the job may find out that the pensions that they are expecting are now cut by 30, 40 and maybe up to 50 percent.

So is this the way to protect working families? Is this bill a good bill?  It is appalling to me that the President of the United States is supporting this bill, but time will tell when it reaches his desk whether he will veto the bill or not. It is not definitely known that he can actually veto this bill at the moment, but if he gets a chance to see the bill on his desk, he may just change his mind.  Also, another possibility would be that if the Senate defeats the bill, they can in turn re-write the bill and send it back to the House. People are now discovering what is actually in the bill, and many people are showing their disgust. There is growing outrage that a growing majority of people do not like the bill, according to recent polls taken within the last 24 hours. But again, will Congress do the will of the people, or will the Congress just pass this bill for their own selfish interests, along with giving the mega-banks permission to again push out risky deals at the expense of the American taxpayer. This is what the President gets for bailing out the banks in the first place. . If the President could have only known that they would try it again since the last disaster, would he have bailed out the banks originally? I hardly think so. But at that time, since the House and the Senate were in Democratic hands, there would have been no possibility at that time for such reckless legislation to be passed.

Whoever said that the Congress is in a lame duck session? Whoever they are, they must not be eating their own words. The Congress of the United States is more busy than it has been in the last 11 months. But there seems to be this sort of rush to do things, not taking in account the consequences of such destructive actions. This type of legislation by Senators in both houses is expected to grow even more at the turn of power in the Senate when the majority would now be held by Republicans,, as Congress will now become very active in the attempt to ramrod other disastrous bills past the President. Hopefully, you will see President Obama take out his veto pen and use it sparingly when needed. With all that is happening today, it makes you wonder why the people of this country continue to allow such lawmakers run the country. Whose side are the Senators on? They are on their own side, promoting their own selfish interests, but the voting public just does not seem to understand this, and these very same voters continue to elect Senators to Congress that could care less about their constituents.

So while everyone waits for the next vote, I can't help but think what I plus others will now decide to do with their life savings, which consists of a 401K and a pension if the Senate passes the bill with all these riders attached that hurt the people and allow  banks to make incredible risky loans at the expense of the taxpayers if they screw up. . For myself, when the Senate does pass such a disastrous bill, I like many others may decide to immediately withdrawal the funds that I have in my accounts to protect the monies that I still have. The last time the banks almost went belly-up, I lost thousands of dollars in my 401K and it took many years for the money to return to my accounts. I am not willing to gamble my money again with the same possible outcome.

Government Shutdown Averted, but Obama Caves in to Republicans

Friday, December 12, 2014

Thursday, December 11, 2014 truly will be a day to be remembered in this country. The Congress, namely the House voted in a matter of business to keep the government open. A resolution to keep it open had to be passed by Congress by midnight. At first, you might think that it is looking good that the resolution may pass, thus avoiding a government shutdown. But when you just look at the cover of the bill, it is just that. If you look into the bill in detail, you will find that the Republicans of the House have thrown in some previsions that actually hurt the country. Details of the bill will follow here, but make notice, if the bill now passes through the Senate today, the President will sign the bill.
It was a down to the wire vote last night in the house, and the 1.1 Trillion dollar plan was approved by a vote of 219 to 206. The voting, that was stalled because of open opposition by Senator Elizabeth Warren and House minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi who outlined what this bill will do to the American citizens if passed.
The following is an excerpt of a speech given to the House by Nancy Pelosi, stating her concerns about the bill that was about to pass.

"Here we are in the House, being blackmailed to vote for an appropriations bill. This is a moral hazard. We are being asked to vote for a moral hazard. Why is this an appropriations bill? Because it was the price to pay to get an appropriations bill." She continued to say, "What is it doing on an appropriations bill except to be, to have this bill being taken hostage. This is a ransom? This is blackmail. You don't get a bill, unless Wall Street gets its taxpayer coverage."

The banks would now be able to place risky bets, and put taxpayers on the hook for another bailout if those bets went wrong.

Earlier in the day, President Obama endorsed the bill, that infuriated Nancy Pelosi, and also Elizabeth Warren, who also stood in front of the House to make her strong argument that the bill will hurt the country. Senator Elizabeth Warren and House Democrats led a dramatic fight to stop a big giveaway to the big banks, namely CitiGroup, Morgan Chase, and Bank of America. Six hours before a potential government shutdown, a GOP attempt to ramp through a spending bill that guts the Dodd Frank financial reform bill briefly stalled. House Democrats were meeting behind closed doors in an attempt to see this issue through.
Originally yesterday morning, Speaker Boehner said that he had the votes, but it was obvious as the day progressed that he would need Democratic support in the House to get the bill passed, that would move forward to the Senate today. He dismissed concerns about Wall Street giveaways.
But then, the Democrats reunited to nearly get the bill to the House floor. Representative David Price stated that the bill will "blow a major hole in the Dodd Frank bill, putting taxpayers on the hook for some of the riskiest behaviors of Wall Street institutions". He was indicating the big banks. Representative Marcy Kaptur from Ohio, another Democrat, stated the following in her speech in front of the House. "Haven't those mega-banks hurt America enough, and what is this doing in this bill?"

Here is what Elizabeth Warren said...

"This fight isn't about Conservatives or Liberals. It's not about Democrats or Republicans. It's about money. If big companies can deploy their armies of lobbyists and lawyers to get Congress to vote for special deals that benefit themselves, then we"ll simply confirm the view of the American people, that the system is rigged. Nobody sent us here to stand up here for Citigroup. I urge my Republican colleges in the House to withhold their support from this package, until this risky giveaway is removed from the legislation. It is time for all of us to stand up and fight"

What is interesting here is that the White House states that it would support the bill, putting Elizabeth Warren and Nancy Pelosi at odds with the President. You may ask whose side I am on, since I stiffly support the President with the writing of this very liberal blog. But since I would like to mainly consider my views here stating what I think what is right and what is wrong, I must enforce this fact with a statement saying that for once, I am AGAINST the thinking of the President of the United States. Yes, you are reading a statement from someone who truly supports the President in just about everything he's attempted in his Presidency, but this action to approve an appropriations bill attached to a government spending bill is not one of them that I support. Did the President and the Republicans in the House, including Democratic Senators think that people would not notice? Did they think that they would slide this bill past Elizabeth Warren, someone who knows about these issues more than ANY other Senator in the House? Do you think that she would just go along with the President because he is a Democrat, ignoring key Democratic principles to protect the middle class, something that the President has championed during his whole tenure of his term in office? Why is President Obama caving in to these types of principles, the exact ones that led to the financial collapse of the country just before President Obama took office? President Obama has slapped his Democratic leaders in the face with supporting such a bill as does the Democratic leader of the Senate, Harry Reid, one that even includes harming the pensions of people. Maybe the President is concerned that Congress would even pass a worse package if it fails, since the Republicans are slated to take complete control of Congress in just a few short days. The President is giving the Republicans a Christmas present because if passed in the House, which it did, the bill is also very much favored in the Senate, which votes on the bill today.
From what I see, the government needs funding to continue to operate and this is what pushed the President over the top, trying to make a few Republican friends in Congress during the rest of his lame duck session as President.
In conclusion, you had Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren holding the line against the House GOP leadership, but President Obama and Harry Reid who like this bill because they believe that it is the best thing that they can have before the new GOP majority convenes in the new Congress. What the Republicans seem to be doing is to all they can to protest against President Obama's Executive Actions for immigration. But on the other side, people are saying that we gave Wall Street enough breaks the last time around, so why do this again!?!?!?!!!
Also, something that people may not know, is that spending by campaign finance and regulations would also change, that would insure that big party donors can give even more to the DNC and RNC. This is just as troubling. This it telling the American people that you must pay to play, and this is wrong. If you don't have money, you are not going to be elected, regardless of what your principles are. The political process has now even become more corrupt than it was and the corruption is now very open for the world to witness.
So what does this mean about the power of the progressive caucus in the House and the Senate? First it showed that they were emboldened. The fact is that this bill was John Boehner's vote. Why couldn't he get enough of his own Republicans to take his side. He wants it to go on record as a bipartisan bill, supported by Democrats as well as Republicans.
What this also shows since the bill was passed in the House is that you have two groups of people, who used to be on totally opposite sites, the progressive Democrats and the right wing tea party people who are actually agreeing on something. When was this ever going to happen in our lifetime? Here we are, just two weeks before Christmas and the Democrats have already caved into the Republicans, including President Obama and Harry Reid.
What has happened in the House and what most likely will happen today in the Senate is something that is very hard to swallow, and the President will forever be criticized for such support on a bill that hurts the American people, just so he can keep the government running. The President of the United States was beat as he supported the Republican principles on this bill.
Now you can only bet that it is a matter of time that the country will face similar circumstances as it experienced in 2007 with the financial meltdown of our economy, thanks to the lobbyists of mega-banks such as Citigroup, Morgan Chase and Bank of America, and now it looks like the citizens of the country will be help responsible to protect these banks if they fail yet one more time.

President Obama, Harry Reid and every Senator that voted or supported  this bill should be ashamed of their actions, as they represent what is supposed to be leaders in a free world, not a country that is besieged by powerful money hungry people who think of themselves instead of the people that they are supposed to represent. Their voices here will be forever on record.

Who knows...!!  A miracle may happen and the U.S. Senate will not pass the bill handed to them by the House, but in all likelihood, it will pass. The fallout from this bill will continue to happen, and the American people will be reckoned with the facts that will now affect their daily lives. Stay tuned here on this blog to continue to get the fallout and the details of what has happened and what will now happen because of the passage of this bill.

Chris Rock Sorely Criticizes President Obama

Monday, December 1, 2014

Comedian Chris Rock

In a recent interview of the comedian Chris Rock, he criticized President Obama on many things, initially saying that when Obama became President, "we got Shaq, not Michael Jordan." Then again, all Chris Rock is, is just an entertainer with his own personal views, as he sees it, explained in his shows. That's just my point. It is just his show. Just because he says something, that doesn't mean that people need to believe him. Recently, he answered a few questions in an interview with Frank Rich from New York magazine. Most of the questions asked by Frank Rich were answered in Chis's opinion. But one of the responses I seemed to be quite odd. The following is the question and then the answer by Chris, proving why he definitely could not qualify to be the leader of the free world, someone who cares about his fellow human beings.

Chris Rock begins to say the following, and then in quotes is his actual statement.

The comedian said Obama's tenure could have gone differently if the President started from rock bottom, rather than trying to prevent the country from further devolving into an economic disaster.

"When Obama first got elected, he should have let it all just drop...Just let the country flatline. Let the auto industry die. Don't bail anybody out. In sports, that's what any new GM does. They make sure that the catastrophe is on the old management and then they clean up. They don't try to save old management's mistakes...Let it all go to hell knowing good and well this is on them. That way you can implement. You hire your own coach. You get your own players. He could have got way more done.
You know, we've all been on planes that had tremendous turbulence, but we forget all about it. Now, if you live through a plane crash, you'll never forget that. Maybe Obama should have let the plane crash. You get credit for bringing somebody back from the dead. You don't really get credit for helping a sick person by administering antibiotics."

Personally, I had taken offense by his comment concerning President Obama, and that he should have just let the "country flatline", or "let the auto industry die". Sure, it wouldn't affect him. He's pretty wealthy right now, and he doesn't have to worry about putting food on the table. Did he consider all of the tens of thousands of people that would have had to start their lives over if President Obama acted as Chris says that he should have?
Sure, it may have been easier to just blame the previous President for the economic disaster that plagued President Obama from day one of his presidency. But it was not the right thing to do just to make it easier for yourself to gain popularity of the people. Gaining popularity wasn't in the cards for President Obama. After all, he already had it, as he just won his first term as PONTUS. He is not about just gaining fame. During his whole Presidency to date of just a little over 6 years now, the only thing President Obama wanted to do was to do the right thing, to help the middle class, to take the country into a new direction in the hopes of improving the economy, and by letting things just flatline just to take all the credit, to me is just sick.
So kudos to you Mr. Chris Rock! You could NEVER concern yourself for the people you be-little, just because you have it all, but others must loose everything because you say so.
Mr. Chris Rock is just a comedian, thank God. He does and never will have the compassion for the American people that President Obama has for the people. Since becoming a successful comedian, Mr. Chris Rock hasn't had to do a serious thing during his who career. Stand-up comedy is his gig and let's hope that Mr. Chris Rock will never run for any political office someday.

Hillary Clinton With Lots of Support, ready to Run in 2016

Saturday, November 29, 2014

It is now a known fact that Democrats are preparing for Hillary Clinton to run for President. Strategy sessions are being held to prepare for her bid to become President in 2016. Hundreds of financial backers and Clinton insiders are making themselves known in a go-ahead strategy to help Hillary with deciding to run. One of the workers is a gentleman by the name of Harold Ickes, who actually worked in Bill Clinton's White House many years ago. So far, he claims that he now has 3 million names that are supportive for Hillary Clinton, which hopefully will help make her decide to run for President.

She may have some formidable challengers in her own party, to include Vice President Joe Biden, and outgoing Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, and also Senator Jim Webb, who has already opened up a committee. Even with all of the planning, the insiders do not know if and when Hillary will actually announce she actually is running. She still has allot of time before she actually has to make the announcement if she really is running. Others may jump in the election earlier, in an attempt to gain some ground and become known by voters around the country, unlike Hillary who already has very strong name recognition by everyone in the U.S. and leaders throughout the world for that matter. Hillary is the most experienced and a best known candidate of any Republican or Democratic candidate. The election would be hers to loose. If she decides to run, many other want-to-be candidates most likely will not run because their chances of being successful would be slim next to none if Hillary runs.

Regardless if she runs or not, many experts will say that her campaign will not be easy, as the Republicans most likely will have a formidable candidate to run against her. But at the end, Hillary will prevail, along with a Senate that will again cross over the divide and return under Democratic control. This will be possible because the Republicans now have two more years with a majority in the U.S. Senate to screw things up, and they will.

American Occupation in Afghanistan Extended by Obama

In a not too surprising announcement by President Obama, a decision to pull out American combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014 has been reversed. The international military force led by the Americans now will stay in Afghanistan throughout 2015.

The main reason for the change of heart by the President may be that he sees the need to keep U.S. troops in the fight against the Taliban and other militant groups, the ones that threaten Americans and the Afghan government. With the rapid spread of ISIL after the withdrawal of U.S. occupation in Iraq, it will also serve to keep the ISIL rebels from committing a hostile takeover of Afghan territory. The President was adamant that U.S. troops would leave Afghanistan, but President Obama has taken another look of the possible reactions by terrorist groups in the surrounding countries. The President would be the first one to admit that by pulling troops out of Iraq was the single largest reason for the ISIL insurgence into the country of Iraq today. The main goal will be shifted to keep Americans safe, while they in turn keep fighting the Taliban or whomever provide direct support to al Qaeda.

Still, the present plan to remove around 4,900 troops by the end of next year still stands. That is approximately half of the total number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan at the moment. With the change of heart, the action by the President will now allow for more air campaigns and the use of drones for support. It's been now 13 years and counting, the amount of time that American troops have occupied Afghanistan. So far there has been 2,351 American soldiers that have perished in the conflicts, holding the largest number of casualties amongst other nations at war in Afghanistan, to include the United Kingdom, but their totals of all other soldiers kills tops 1100, less than half of the total number of American casualties.

Prior to the election of the new Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who now favors extended help from the United States, the dethroned leader, Hamid Karzai wanted American troops out of his country. Will all that is happening in that part of the world, to include Syria, the President is making a very conscious move, even if his will is to remove all American troops from battle in that part of the country before he leaves office. It now is highly unlikely that American troops will leave that region by 2016.

Polls Are Not the Tell-All Story When it Comes to Presidential Elections

Monday, November 24, 2014

Is it a forgone conclusion that Hilary Clinton will be the next Democratic Candidate? Most people you ask say that is the case. But who will run against her? One of the people that will most likely not run WITH her is President Obama. Hilary most likely will distance herself from the President.
One of the gauges in politics that is used most often are the polls. In a surprising poll, a Bloomberg politics/At. Anselm poll, is in favor of Hilary Clinton over President Obama - 88% to 86%, and the President cannot even run. VP. Joe Biden comes in 3rd at 72% and Senator Elizabeth Warren comes in at 61%, even though Warren claims that she definitely is not going to run for President.
In the 2016 primary, Hilary overwhelming shadows her possible opponents and she hasn't even announced that she is running yet.  Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 62% to 13%, Sen. Bernie Sanders 6%, VP. Joe Biden 5%.

Now in the Republican Poll, Bloomberg shows Mitt Romney over Senator Rand Paul - 30% to 11%, then Governor Chris Christie at 9% and Jeb Bush at 8%. So is Mitt Romney going to pursue the White House for the third time? Most people seem to be talking again about Mitt Romney, as he could be the Republican candidate that could actually compete against Hilary Clinton to win the White House in 2016. Maybe it's just the state of New Hampshire, because Mitt Romney is very popular there.

One thing is for sure, the Republican party is definitely in need of a nominee. Romney for allot of people is the guy who can raise money, and who has the experience of running a presidential election. Even with all this said, it's almost meaningless to speculate as it is definitely too early to make such projections. That's why I believe that poll numbers are most likely not realistic, especially in presidential elections this early in the game.
Now for those Romneyites. Do you think that Romney will get in the race one more time? He definitely is stupid enough to. He has the money to waste.  He does happen to be a clear choice for allot of people. The one deciding factor might be if Jeb Bush runs or not. If he does not run, then I think Mitt Romney will go at it one more time. The question is whether he would be willing to put up with the sure to come criticism that will be hot and heavy by his contenders this go around. Mitt's problem is that all of his contenders, both Democratic and Republican already know what he is all about, and know just about everything about him that can help him or hurt him in the election. Mitt Romney has an advantage because he's done this before.

Now, the polls do show that if Romney did run, he would be neck in neck against Hilary Clinton, as Clinton shows that Hilary is only up by one point 46% to 45% over Romney in the general election. Without Romney in play, the general election has Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Rand Paul running side by side in the polls at 16%, 2 points over Job Bush at 16%. Others that might run are Mike Huckabee, Rep. Paul Ryan, and Senator Ted Cruz.
The field of contenders don't seem to be that very good for Republicans. Their stance on immigration is not good either. Their stance regarding equal pay for men vs. women are not good. Their stance for raising the minimum wage and help support the middle class are not good. Republican ideas most definitely favor the rich, so the Republicans will have a difficult time running against any Democratic candidate in 2016.
Until the Republicans change their ideas concerning immigration to say the least, they will not win the Presidency. Whoever wins the Democratic nomination to run for President will win the White House this year. If Elizabeth Warren decided to run if Hilary did not, she would beat Mitt Romney hands down in the General election, regardless of what the polls say at the moment. Obviously polls are not that convincing to me.

The Legality of the Presidents Executive Action

A good talking point today would be the legality of the Presidents Executive action. The main question, is it constitutional? What the President did was to make a whole new class of beneficiaries.  It appears that the one thing that makes President Obama's action legal, is that it is considered 'deferred action'. The President is not saying that he is changing the status of anyone, but what he is saying is that for these particular applicants, we are going to defer action. It appears to be for an indefinite period of time, as up front he states for 3 years, well after the next general election, but the catcher here is that the action can renew. People who fall under deferred action can get a drivers license. What this does not bring is a path to citizenship. Now going back in history, according to the 1986 law, if you have deferred action, you can work. The agency has the authority to issue work permits to anyone who has deferred action. This authority has been around for decades. Reagan used this authority, George W. Bush used it, and it's pretty clear stuff. It appears that the President did do his homework before announcing his plan for illegal immigrants. So there is a little history for you.

Some will say that it is not that clear. First, the President does have broad discretion. But the problem may be just how the President went about this. If the President would have said for example, that we have 11.3 million illegal immigrants, and the department of Homeland Security tells me that I can only deport 400,000 per year but we just don't have the resources, so if the President would have focused on border security, national security or on public safety, stating his case as a resource issue, then maybe that would have been a better way to approach this issue. The President clearly left those ideas out of his speech, and was likely told to do exactly that with his legal council.

Posted in the last article was the President's speech. There were no legal arguments stated in the speech. What do you think? Should President Obama  have added legal grounds within his speech for his case for executive action in favor of illegal immigrants? Everyone in the country had the same question in mind before he actually made the speech, including me; "IS this legal?" He did not answer that question in his speech, but let's face it, the President did do his homework here. He is an attorney, a scholar of law, previously serving as a professor in one of the most prestigious schools in the nation - Harvard. The polls may state that he is not doing the will of the people, at least that is what many Republicans are claiming, just to discredit the President. But why didn't he state the reasoning that his own justice department gave him before he decided to go forward with deferred action? I believe that President Obama then would have been completely in the clear, because there is allot of case law that confirms what he is doing is right, but it just begs the proof that it is just, which the Republican party will now bring up over and over again.

The President of the United States is obviously a very smart man. He knows what is coming. He has already played out in his mind all the different kinds of reactions by the Republican party and his opponents. Still, he was given the advice to move forward by his legal counsel, and that is exactly what he did. Will the Supreme Court hear complaints made by Republicans regarding the legality of the Presidents actions. Most likely they will, and this is exactly what the President wants to see happen. Why, because he wants to further point out that he is for the Hispanics and illegals who now have the right to "leave the shadows', as President Obama stated in his speech. The Democratic party will gain this minority vote for the 2016 election, which is something that the winning party MUST have to win the election.

The President gave a speech completely disconnected from the legal grounding, but now I do not believe that it makes any difference, because popular opinion is growing about this Executive Action, and it will definitely be something for the next Democratic candidate for President to run on, and that is immigration.

President Obama - Executive Action on Immigration

Thursday, November 20, 2014

In a 10 minute speech this evening, November 20, 2014, President Obama did exactly what he said he would do 2 years ago, and that is to do something that the Congress failed to do, act on immigration. He will sign the Executive action tomorrow.  As the president has mentioned the transcript of his speech will be attached to this post,  the President gave Congress ample time to pass a bill. They didn't have to dream one up. One was previously presented to them. The U.S. Senate has previously passed a bi-partisan immigration bill and passed it along to the House, but Congressional leaders in the House, under the leadership of John Boehner, has decided not to even let the bill reach the House floor for a vote.

This evening, the President in a bold action made the announcement about immigration from the East Room of the White House. He even expanded his speech talking about the scripture of man. His speech was that of a two part speech. He did get extremely specific on what the deal is, and about politics,  about members of Congress that question his authority to make the immigration system work better, or to question his wisdom when in fact the Congress has again failed to act. The actions by the President are no means the stated law in this country, as only Congress can pass laws that all must adhere to, but as the President says, all they (Congress) has to do is "pass a bill" and their law would become the law of the land.

In similar fashion in the past, the President championed 'ObamaCare', a health plan that now benefits millions of Americans, but the Republican caucus is totally against Obamacare, and they want to dismantle it, at the expense of millions of Americans that now depend on it. The Republicans actually don't care on who they hurt, but they in their own greedy wisdom, have decided against the will of the people that 'ObamaCare' is bad for the country. But if it were that bad, they would have a plan of their own, but of course, just like their plans for immigration, they have no plan.
The President realized that the Republican caucus had no plans to ever pass an immigration bill that would benefit millions of undocumented workers who are actually born citizens of this country, and their family in hiding because of the fear of being deported.

Unlike my strong belief on what the President is doing is right, there will be a vast number of Americans that believe that the President is not doing right. Starting off with the Republican caucus, lead by the tea party, will now attempt to do whatever they can to limit Obama's powers, and will either try to impeach him, or sue him for abusing his power. Let's be clear, the President did not abuse his power. He was very specific on what he was doing. He did not grant amnesty to the population of undocumented people who have been in this country for years. Several Presidents before Obama has also passed some form of immigration bill, to include Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Even though Republicans did not accept President Bush's bill on immigration, as it failed in Congress and never became law, you might wonder why that President as did every President for the last 50 years, introduce legislation to address immigration. Still, there were never threats against the Republican Presidents for doing the same kind of thing concerning undocumented people in this country as there are now against President Obama, who is not dictating law, but exercising his right as President of the United States, in matters that he has total legality in.

This blog for the most part has been very liberal in nature, but there are several people whom I know that disagree with my ideas. One such person, a friend at work, has decided that I may not know enough about history to be able to form my opinions on the Government, so I have invited him to contribute to this blog and write some articles so that I may see his side of the story. The fact may be that I may not know as much about history as he may know, but what gives him the right to state that because he thinks I don't know enough about history? He thinks that I may be too ignorant regarding the issues that we face in politics today, and I am here to challenge him to the task.

I invite him and others to refute my articles as they see fit, and their writing will be published as they are provided. The articles will be published in their original form, but I as the author of this blog have the right to refute anything that they say. I encourage others to do the same. If interested in contributing to this blog, all you have to do is contact me via obamainthewhitehouse@mail.com, send an article that you desire to be published, and your words will be read by thousands of other readers of this blog. The articles must be well thought out, written in good English, and the author of the article must be able to accept criticism from me.

Back on topic, the President no doubt has made his life a little more difficult when it comes with communicating with the Congress and getting things done, but likewise, the Republican led Congress needs to realize that they must get their billed passed through in the Executive branch of government, or everything that they produce as far as bills are concerned will be a total waste of time, as they will just be veto'd by the President. The only way to eliminate a Presidential veto is to get the Senate to get a two thirds total Senate vote in favor of the bill for the President not to have veto power.

Not withholding the speech that President Obama gave this evening concerning immigration,

THE FOLLOWING IS THE TRANSCRIPT OF PRESIDENT OBAMA'S SPEECH IN ITS ENTIRETY.

My fellow Americans,

Tonight I'd like to talk with you about immigration.  For more than 200 years, our tradition of welcoming immigrants from around the world has given us a tremendous advantage over other nations. It's kept us youthful, dynamic, and entrepreneurial. It has shaped our character as a people with limitless possibilities, people not trapped by our past, but able to remake ourselves as we choose.  But today, our immigration system is broken, and everybody knows it.  Families who enter our country the right way and played by the rules watch others flout the rules.  Business owners who offer their workers good wages and benefits see the competition exploit undocumented immigrants by paying them far less. All of us take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards of living in America without taking on the responsibilities of living in America. Undocumented immigrants who desperately want to embrace those responsibilities, see little option but remain in the shadows, or risk their families be torn apart. It's been this way for decades, and for decades we haven't done much about it.
When I took office, I committed to fixing this broken immigration system, and I began to do what I could to secure our borders. Today we have more agents and technology to secure the southern border than anytime in our history, and over the past six years, illegal border crossings have been cut by more than half, although this summer, there was a brief spike in unaccompanied children being apprehended at our border. The number of such children is actually lower in nearly two years. Overall, the number of people trying to cross our border illegally is at its lowest level since the 1970's.  Those are the facts. Meanwhile I worked with Congress on a comprehensive fix, and last year 68 Democrats, Republicans and Independents, came together to pass a bi-partisan bill in the Senate. It wasn't perfect. It was a compromise.  But it reflected common sense. It would have doubled the number of border control agents, while giving undocumented immigrants a pathway to citizenship, if they paid a fine, started paying their taxes, and went to the back of the line. Independent experts said that it would help grow our economy, and shrink our deficit, had the House of Representatives allowed that kind of bill a simple yes or no vote, it would have passed with support from both parties, and today it would be the law.  But for a year and a half now, Republican leaders in the House have refused to allow that simple vote. Now, I continue to believe that the best way to solve this problem is by working together to pass that kind of comman sense law.  But until that happens, there are actions I have the legal authority to take as President, the same kinds of actions taken by Democratic and Republican presidents before me. They will help make our our immigration system more fair and more just.
Tonight I'm announcing those actions.  First, we'll build on our progress at the border with additional resources for our law enforcement personnel, so that they can stem the flow if illegal crossings and speed the return of those who do cross over. Second, I'll make it easier and faster for high skilled immigrants, graduates and entrepreneurs to stay and contribute to our economy, as so many business leaders had proposed.  Third, we will take steps to deal responsibility with the millions of undocumented immigrants who already live in our country. I want to say more about this third issue  because it generates the most passion and controversy. Even as we are a nation of immigrants, we are also a nation of laws. Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe that they must be held accountable, especially those who may be dangerous. That's why over the past 6 years, deportations of criminals are up 80%, and that's why we are going to keep focusing enforcement resources on actual threats to our security. Felons, not families. Criminals, not children, gang members, not a mom that is working hard to provide for her kids. We'll prioritize, just like law enforcement does every day. But even as we focus on deporting criminals, the fact is that millions of immigrants in every state, in every race and nationality still live here illegally. And let's be honest. Tracking down, rounding up and deporting millions of people isn't realistic.  Anyone who suggests otherwise isn't being straight with you.  It's also not who we are as Americans.  After all most of these immigrants have been here a long time.  They work hard, often in tough, low paying jobs.  They support their families. They worship at our churches.  Many of their kids are American born and spent most of their lives here, and their hopes, dreams and patriotism are just like ours. As my predecessor, President Bush once put it, they are a part of American life.  Now here's the thing.  We expect people who live in this country to play by the rules.  We expect that those who cut the line will not be unfairly rewarded. So we are offering the following deal. If you been in America for more than 5 years, if you have children who are American citizens or legal residents, if you registered, pass a criminal background check and you are willing to pay your fair share of taxes, your will be able to apply to stay in this country temporarily without fear of deportation. You can come out of the shadows and get right wih the law.  That's what this deal is. Now let's be clear about what it isn't.  This deal does not apply to anyone who has come to this country recently. It does not apply to anyone who might come to America illegally in the future.  It does not grant citizenship or the right to stay here permanently or offer the same benefits that citizen receive. Only Congress can do that. All we're saying is, we are not going to deport you.
I know some of the critics of this action call this amnesty.  Well, it's not. Amnesty is the immigration system that we have today. Millions of people who live here without paying their taxes or playing by the rules, while politicians use the issue to scare people and whip up votes at election time. That's the real amnesty, leaving this broken system the way that it is.  Mass amnesty would be unfair. Mass deportation would be both impossible and contrary to our character.  What I'd describing is accountability, a common sense middle ground approach. If you meet the criterea, you can come out of the shadows and get right with the law. If you are a criminal, you will be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up. The actions I'm taking are not only lawful, they are the kinds of actions taken by every single Republican President and every single Democratic President for the past half century.  To those members of Congress that question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or questioning the wisdom of me acting while Congress has failed, I have one answer.  PASS A BILL. I want to work with both parties to pass a more permanent legislative solution, and the day that I sign that bill into law, the actions I take will no longer be necessary.  Meanwhile, don't let a disagreement over a single be a deal breaker on every issue.  That is not how our democracy works, an Congress surely shouldn't shut down our government again just because we disagree on this. Americans are tired of gridlock.  What our country needs from us right now is a common purpose, a higher purpose.  Most Americans support the types of reforms I talked about tonight.  But I understand the disagreements held by many of you at home.  Millions of us, myself included go back generations in this country with ancestors who put in the painstaking work to become citizens.  So we don't like the notion that anyone might get a free pass to American citizenship. I know some worried immigration will change the fabric of who we are, or take our jobs, or stick it to middle class families in a time where they already feel that the have gotten the wrong deal for over a decade. I hear those concerns. But that's not what these steps would do. Our history and the facts show that immigrants are a net plus for our economy and our society. I believe that it's important that all of us have this debate with not impugning each others character. Because for all of the back and forth from Washington, we have to remember that this debate is about something bigger. It's about who we are as a country and who we want to be for future generations. Are we a nation who tolerates the hippocracy of a system where workers who pick our fruit and make our beds, never have a chance to get right with the law? Or, are we a nation that gives them a chance to make amends, take responsibility and give their kids a better future. Are we a nation that accepts the cruelty of ripping their children from their parents arms or are we a nation that values families, and works together to keep them together? Are we a nation that educates the worlds best and brightest at Universities, only to send them home to create businesses in countries that compete against us? Or, are we a nation that encourages them to stay and create jobs here, create businesses here, create industries right here in America. That's what this debate is all about. We need more than politics as usual when it comes to immigration.  We need reasoned, thoughtful, compassionate debate that focuses on our hopes, not our fears. I know the politics of this issue are tough.  But let me tell you why I've come to feel so strongly about it.
Over the past years, I've seen the determination of immigrant fathers who worked two or three jobs without taking a dime from the government and at risk at any moment of loosing it all, just to build a better life for their kids. I've seen the heartbreak and the anxiety of children of whose mothers might be taken away from them, just because they didn't have the right papers.  I've seen the courage of students who except for the circumstances of their birth, are as American as Milia or Sausha, students who bravely come out as undocumented in hopes that they can make a difference in the country they love.  These people are neighbors, our classmates, our friends. They did not come here in search of a free ride or an easy life. They came to work, and study and serve in our military, and above all, contribute to America's success.
Now tomorrow, I'll travel to Las Vegas, and meet with some of these students, including a young woman named Astrid Silva. Astrid was brought to America when she was four years old.  Her only possessions were a cross, her doll and the furley dress she had on.  When she started school, she didn't speak any  English. She caught up to other kids by reading newspapers watching PBS, and she became a good student.  Her father worked in landscaping. Her mom cleaned other peoples homes. They wouldn't let Astra to apply to a technology magnet school, not because they didn't love her, but they were afraid the paperwork would out her as an undocumented immigrant.  So she applied behind their back and got in. Still, she mostly lived in the shadows, until her grandmother who visited every year from Mexico, passed away. And she couldn't travel to the funeral without risk of being found out and deported. It was around that time that she decided in advocating for herself and others like her and today, Astrid Silva is a college student working on her third degree. Are we a nation that kicks out a striving hopeful immigrant like Astra?Or, are we a nation that finds a way to welcome her in.
Scripture tells us that we shall not oppress a stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger. We were strangers once too.  My fellow Americans, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once too.  And whether our fore-bearers or strangers that crossed the Atlantic or the Pacific or the Rio Grande, we are here only because the country welcomed them in, and taught them to be an American is about something more that what we look like, or what our last names are or how we worship.  What makes us Americans is our shared commitment to an ideal, that all of us are created equal, and all of us have the chance to make of our lives of what we will.  That's the country our parents and grandparents and generations before them built for us. That's the tradition we must uphold.  That's he legacy that we must leave for those yet to come.

Thank you. God bless you, and God bless this country we love.

President Barack Obama - A Most Successful President, for ALL TIME.

Friday, November 14, 2014

The Republicans may not like this, but compared to President George W. Bush in likability and ability to perform his job as President of the United States, many will likely agree on the following statement.... Compare his leadership role against that of his Congress. He has created his signature bill called "the Affordable Care Act" also famously dubbed as "ObamaCare" by the Republicans. He has killed the number one terrorist of all time, Osama bin Laden, He is about the legalize millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S. who have been born here, he has fought hard for the middle class and poor and against the rich, just to name a few. His last two years in Office will seal his place in history as the first black President of the United States. He will always and forever represent CHANGE in America.

Senator Elizabeth Warren with a New Leading Role in the U.S. Senate

Senator Elizabeth Warren dressed in red

As Congressional Senators within both houses of Congress approved their leaders for the next Congress, Mitch McConnell for Senate and John Boehner again as Speaker of the House, the Democratic Caucus admits that they also need new leadership, to confront such right wing ideas that now will be pouring out of the House and Senate.
There is now a new leadership role in place in the Senate, namely with a  Senator from Massachusetts -  Elizabeth Warren. She will act as an informal liaison to the party's liberal base, a job that was just newly created.
So it now appears that the Republicans in the Senate, starting with Mitch McConnell, will not only have to put up with the minority leader of the Democrats in the Senate, Harry Reid who has also been confirmed, but also will have to put up with the likes of Senator Elizabeth Warren, who plans to drive home liberal ideas in the Senate. This will also help prepare her for a possible 2016 Presidential run if she were to decide to change her mind. She has already stated that she does not plan to run for President of the United States, but many are hoping that she may change her mind as she definitely will become front and center with every Senate vote until the 2016 Presidential election.

Veto Pen 'FRESH WITH INK' as Republicans try to create laws without Executive Branch Approvals

President Obama is returning from his Asian trip on Sunday. He will be facing several issues that have risen since he was gone for just a short time. To head up this list is the Alaskan Pipeline, a resolution to be taken today, Friday November 14th, 2014, that is fully expected to pass the House and then expected to pass the 'lame duck' Senate on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. By now, President Obama has pulled out his veto pen from his desk, and loading it up with fresh ink, as he is fully expected to veto this bill sometime next week.
While away on his trip, President Obama has come to a historical agreement with China, regarding air pollution, and the implementation of controls that will affect both the United States and China. The Speaker of the House Elect Senator Mitch McConnell, is now threatening the President along with the Speaker of the House John Boehner, that they will make it difficult for President Obama if he implements the laws as agreed with China, but again, this agreement is proof that President Obama, a lame duck President, plans to stay as active as possible during his last two years in office. He plans to force the 'do nothing' Congress to now pass laws, since they now own Congress with the upcoming Senate now to be in Republican control. The Congress now will run out of reasons why they are not passing bills, not just for the mere fact that they do not like President Obama, and that they will do EVERYTHING in their power to not pass legislation, even if it were to hurt the country, just so that the President will not receive any credit for them as President.
President Obama, as promised since June of this year to act on immigration on his own, if the Congress cannot get their act together and pass a bill to at a minimum, legalize illegal immigrants, those who now have been born in this country and has family here with them. The Republican Caucus is totally against this plan, and John Boehner has stated publicly, just a day after the mid-term elections that the President will "poison the well", indicating that the Congress will work totally against him in the remainder of his term as President if he takes Executive action regarding immigration.
Let me ask all who read this blog. Does anyone think for a moment that President Obama is scared of the 'do nothing Congress'. They themselves do not have a leg to stand on, as historically, they will be known as the least productive Congress of the United States since the beginning a Congress, hundreds of years ago. The Republican Caucus is now threatening 'IMPEACHMENT' if the President acts. In other words, if he proceeds to do what he lawfully has the ability to do, just because they do not want him to do it, they are not only going to introduce impeachment, but they will also implement a 'second lawsuit' against him. By the way, the first lawsuit still has not gone forward.
Is impeachment of the President what the main Republican body wants to do. I do not believe so, but again the far 'right-wing', known as the 'tea party', will force the Republicans to act, which will definitely hurt them in 2016 for an election for the next President. If this was not enough for the start of the new Republican controlled Congress, members are now tossing around the idea of a 'government shutdown', as money needed to be acquired and made available to keep it running will be needed next month. A bill will have to be passed to do just that. Are the Republicans capable of passing a bill to fund the government before they go on recess for the holidays. They only have just a few weeks total of scheduled work for the rest of this month and December before they are gone until the new Congress convenes in January, 2015.
The outlook of the new Congress is very haunting to say the least, but now it will be up them to actually save their own Republican party, but if history is going to repeat itself, they will not do what is right. They will continue to do what they think is best for them, and not what is best for their constituents, and again, they will not only loose the Presidential race in 2016, but they will also loose control of the Republican controlled Senate in 2016.
Then, do you think they will finally wake up and do what the people want?  Even then, I still do not think that they will be capable to change direction, as long as the 'tea party' has so much effect on the mainstream Republican party. Until the Republicans can pull in support from immigrants, from Mexican decent, to include women and blacks, the right wing of government will NEVER see another Republican President.

Loretta Lynch Nomination for Attorney General of the U.S.

Sunday, November 9, 2014

There was an announcement on Friday night from the office of the White House Press Secretary regarding President Obama's pick for the new Attorney General nomination to replace the outgoing Attorney General of the United States - Eric Holder. The question is after the recent mid-term elections with the Republicans now taking over the Senate, whether the nominee will be confirmed or not. The nominee - Loretta Lynch, a US attorney from the eastern district of New York. She oversees prosecutions in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island. She is what many would call the perfect choice, and should get confirmed before the new U.S. Senate takes hold in Congress in January who oversees these types of confirmations. The President made the announcment official at the White House yesterday. Loretta was previously confirmed by Congress in 2000, and again in 2010. Both times it was by acclaimation, as there were no votes cast, and she sailed through. Will she get through as easily this time.
Eric Holder became the first black Attorney General of the United States, and Loretta would be the first woman to ever become the highest ranked attorney of the country, serving as Attorney General to replace Eric Holder. But since those acclaimated nominiations, she has been involved with one specific felony indictment in New York City against a serving Republican Congressman named Michel Grimm, from District 11 - Staten Island, who has just re-elected against a Democratic challenger named Domenic Recchia. Go figure that one. The Republicans from that district choose someone who has 20 felony charges pending against him. Do you think that there may be some resentment votes against Loretta now from the Republican party. A party that elects someone with felony charges pending must be a party who is in favor of people who break laws.
President Obama has nothing less than an uphill battle with the U.S. Congress for his last two years in office, and this may be an uphill battle too, an issue that hasn't ever been an issue before, but just because she did her job in her districts, which happened to be work against Republicans in this one instance with Michael Grimm, she may not get the nomination. This is how corrupt the thinking is in Washington these days, thanks to Republicans and the tea party who legislates ideas as if they are on a stuper all the time.
Follow the news this coming week and see if Loretta gets confirmed as the new Attorney General of the United States. It most likely will happen, but if not confirmed by the Senate before the new Senate takes over in January, this time there should be a fight to get her nominated

Republicans Take Over U.S. Senate - What's Next?

Who would have ever believed that the Republicans would have taken over the Senate? It is an interesting question, but if you were of following politics during the first 6 years of the Obama presidency, you would have guessed that the Republicans were destined to take over the Senate in 2014. It happened to George W Bush, and it happened to Bill Clinton. During the Bill Clinton years, the Republican Congress also actually voted to impeach President Clinton, but they didn't get it done. What are the chances that President Obama will be impleached? Actually, it is my believe that there is a very good chance that President Obama will face impeachment. Will he likely get impeached? I actually think that he will face it and actually get impeached if he goes through with the amnesty for illegal aliens. He promised that he would do such a thing if the Congress did not get the job done on their own. He is giving Congress every chance to get an immigration policy through. President Obama claimed prior that since the Congress could not get anything done, including to handle the immigration bill that was signed by a bipartasan group of Senators in the U.S. Senate over a year ago. John Boehner and his House decided to sit on the bill and not act. Will they act on it now? With their record for getting things done, most likely they will not act on it nowThey never wanted to in the first place, and now it is time for the bluff from the Republicans to President Obama. The President claims that if they continue to stall regarding immigration legislation, that he alone will act and push legislation through that would legalize millions of immigrants. If the President carries this out, then surely after the threats from John Boehner just one day after the election of Republican Senators to their party to gain control of it during the new session to start in January, Obama will face impeachment. Regardless if the Republican House and John Boehner gets away with obstruction of laws, as they failed to even vote on many bills to approach them even if they were signed by a bipartisan group of Senators from the Senate, President Obama will now enact on his own, and then he will be impeached.
After they rid themselves of the President, who do they have to answer too. Would it be Vice President Biden. I think this is how this works, so I really do not see the benefit to the Republican party to impeach the President. If the Republican party thinks they did something good for their party if they were to rid themselves of President Obama, then they have no idea what is in for them if Biden becomes Commander and Chief.
There are reprocussions from most of the Asian, Black, and Hispanic communities if the Republican party goes through with impeachment. One thing is for sure. Regardless of who is sitting in the Oval office, ObamaCare is here to stay. As John Boehner claims, the House will introduce legislation to repeal Obamacare again this year, but for what purpose. No Democratic President setting in the Oval Office would ever sign a bill that would scrap Obama's legislation.
During the election time, I received tons of email asking me to donate to the Democratic cause, even though I virtually knew as did most other Democrats that the Republicans would win out in the off-year elections. There always is a low Democratic turnout, and no matter how much money is thrown in the ring to gather voters to vote, this year it was going to be impossible to overcome and the elections proved it handily. Why should I give any amount of money to a loosing cause, just because I'm a registered Democrat?
The Republicans now think that they have the upper hand as far as Congress and legislative law making, and for the most part they do. But if any bill is to become law, it must go by President Obama's desk for him to sign. He has only veto'd only 2 bills so far during his Presidency, but the President will now show the Republicans how the veto pen is used. Can they override their Veto? I'm sure by now that he's dusted it off and even shined it up a little. In some cases they can overturn a Presidential veto, but it most likely would take a ruling from the Supreme Court to override the Presidential veto. I will find out more information of overriding a Presidential veto and report it here in the near future.

So does the outcome effect me regardless of who is in or out of the Whitehouse? Of course it does, but the elections in 2016 are almost called even before the candidates declare themselves. Regardless of how may Republican Senators there are in the House and Senate, there WILL be another Democratic President in the WhiteHouse in 2016. Then what will Congress do. Most likely, they will continue to obstruct justice and despise the new President, who most likely will be Hilary Clinton, and if she does not run, it may be Joe Biden. During the same year, I predict that the Senate is taken back by the Democrats, but not necessarily the House. So there will be the same Congressional divide as we had since 2012. But this time I think the people will come out and vote as they do during every major Presidential election.

Until the Republicans stop thinking about only lowering taxes for the rich, until the Republicans realize that preventing people from voting, until the Republicans realize that middle class workers deserve a pay raise, until they realize that ObamaCare is here to stay and that they need to stop fooling with it, until their tea party who seems to be totally against the will of the mainstream Republican party decides to join in with normal Republicans, until Ted Cruz is finally out of office and other far right Representitives are dealt with, it will not be until all of these things are met before there will ever be a Republican President in the Whitehouse.

Why is this right wing party so blind? Are they not able to predict the future? Do they not see that if they do not change that what happened in 2008 and 2012 will happen again in 2016? One of the qualifications to be amongst the ranks of the Republican party is that you must be ignorant first. Intentianal ignorance is almost a crime against their own party.

News Media Stories, Now to Include Journalist Jim Foley's Beheading

Thursday, August 21, 2014

THE GRUESOME VIDEO ABOVE WILL NOT BE SHOWN ON THIS BLOG!

All over the news for the last 10 days or so has been the racial issues facing the Midwestern town of Ferguson, Missouri. It seems that for some reason, the lead story of the day seems to be the ONLY issue on reporters minds. Wall to wall coverage on the unrest in Ferguson seems to be the major news story of the day, or of the week for the last two weeks for that matter. Personally, I'm burned out with the repeated story, over and over and over again on the news. All the news outlets seem to say the same thing, except Fox news seems to report only what they want to report. If there ever was a biased news organization, it would be FOX NEWS.

Other issues around the globe now seem to be no consequence to the news outlets, including MSNBC and CNN, besides Fox News. It seems now as if the conflict in Gaza is not as important in the news as the reporting in Ferguson Missouri. The border crises seems to have all but cured itself. Really? Are there still woman and children crossing the border that are facing persecution in their own country? Of course. Then why are we not hearing more of this issue? What about the airline disasters? Will they forever be silent with the news media, and will they only report on current events? I just do not have answers to these questions. Maybe when the 'do-nothing' Congress gets back from vacation, you may hear about these stories, especially about the border issue.

But W-A-I-T ! ! ! ! There is something new that the news media wants to talk about. An American journalist by the name of James Foley who has been missing after being captured in Syria almost two years ago, was beheaded by ISIS on a YouTube video just a few days ago. ISIS sent an email to Jims family telling them that they were going to kill their son in retaliation for what America is doing against ISIS in Iraq. The killer gave an ultimatum for the President of the United States that if the attacks on ISIS do not stop, then more Americans will die. Where did all of the captured Americans come from? It has been reported by the news media, and on social media throughout the internet that there are dozens of converted Americans now within the ISIS ranks in Iraq. Do these people have plans to secretly return to the United States and commit terrorist acts? Does America even know who these traitors are?

What the hell is going on? It was reported that ISIS paid Jim Foley's captors 100 million dollars for his exchange. Where is this terrorist organization coming up with all of this money for randsom, just to smear their horror into the America's eyes. It is now clear, that ISIS, also known as ISIL, not only want to convert every person in the world to ISLAM without their consent and kill anyone who refuses to convert, but their main mission is to destroy the United States. Everything they do, every fabric of their being, is aimed at destroying the United States, and they do not care who they kill in their drive to destroy the United States. They are baiting the United States to re-enter the war in Iraq. Will they succeed will this challenge? President Obama has repeatedly stated that he will not put troops on the ground, but the fact is that nearly 1000 "advisers"  have been sent back to Iraq to help curb the present crisis. Do these advisers carry weapons by any chance? You can bet that they do.

ISIS is a sick organization, capturing Christians and everyone who will not convert. In one report, ISIS fighters approached the home of a resident, and told the husband that if he didn't let his solders rape his daughter, that they would kill his wife. The husband agreed to protect his family. After about 6 or 7 men raped their daughter, they tied up the father and child, and let them watch the rape of his wife. Then, they killed his wife and eventually his daughter. The captors didn't know that there was still another relative in the room who was hiding who witnessed the whole incident, and then escaped to report it.
Recently, thousands of people fled to the Sin-jar mountains to run from ISIS, who drove them out of their homes and were just waiting for these people to die. They were told if they leave the baron mountain, that they would be killed. This mountain provided no food or water. The people only had what they were able to take with them when they left their homes. They were dying a slow death of starvation. Eventually, President Obama decided to initiate a humanitarian mission to save these people, along with a campaign to destroy ISUS, who was now threatening American interests throughout the country of Iraq.

Thousands upon thousands of people are getting slaughtered in the name of ISUS, and one of their fighters, apparently of British decent, murdered Jim Foley and posted a video of the murder on Youtube.

The President responded, with one of his harshest statements since he because president 6 years ago.

The following are President Obama's complete comments in a live statement on August 20, 2014.

"Today, the entire world is appalled by the brutal murder of Jim Foley, by the terrorist group ISUL. Jim was a journalist, a son, a brother, and a friend. He reported from difficult and dangerous places, bearing witness to the lives of people a world away. He has been taken hostage nearly two years ago in Syria and he was courageously reporting at the time on the conflict there. Jim was taken from us in an act of violence that shocks the conscience of the entire world. He was 40 years old. One of five siblings, a son of a mom and dad who worked tirelessly for his release. Earlier today, I spoke to the Foley's and told them that we are all heartbroken at their loss and join them in honoring Jim  and all that he did. Now, Jim Foley's life stands in stark contrast to his killers. Let's be clear about ISIL. They have rampaged across cities and villages, killing innocent unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence. They abduct women and children and subject them to torture and rape, and slavery. They have murdered Muslims, both Sunni and Shia, by the thousands. They target Christians and religious minorities, driving them from their homes, murdering them when they can, for no other reason that they practice a different religion. They declare their ambition and commit genocide against an ancient people. So ISIL speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches how to massacre innocence. No just God would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIS has no ideology of any value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt. They may claim out of expediency that they are at war with the United States or the West, but the fact is that they terrorize their neighbors, and offer them nothing but endless slavery to their empty vision, and the collapse of any definition of civilized behavior. People like this ultimately fail, They fail because the future is won by those who build, not by the ones who destroy. The world is shaped by people like Jim Foley, and the overwhelming majority of humanity that were appalled by those who killed him. The United States of America will continue to do what we must do to protect our people. We will be vigilant and we will be relentless. When people harm Americans anywhere, we do what is necessary to see that justice is done, and we act against ISUL, standing alongside others. The people of Iraq who with our support are taking the fight to ISUL, and must continue to come together to expel these terrorists from their communities. The people of Syria, the story that Jim Foley told, do not deserve to live under the shadow of a tyrant or terrorists, and have our support in their pursuit of future rule from indignity. From governments and peoples across the middle east, there has to be a common effort to extract this cancer so that it does not spread. There has to be a clear rejection of these and of anallistic ideologies. One thing we can all agree on that a group like ISUL have no place in the 21st century. Friends and allies around the world, we share a common security and a common set of values rooted in the opposite of what we saw yesterday, and we will continue to confront this hateful terrorism and replace it with a sense of hope and civility. That's what Jim Foley stood for. A man who lived his work, who courageously told the stories of fellow human beings, and was liked and loved by friends and family. Today, the American people will all say a prayer by those who loved Jim. All of us feel the ache of his absence. All of us mourn his loss. We keep in our prayers those other Americans who are separated from their families. We will do everything that we can to protect our people and the timeless values that we stand for. May God bless and keep Jim's memory, and God bless the United States of America."

Indications that Hilary Clinton is now Launching Her Presidential Campaign

Saturday, August 9, 2014

As reported by Hollywoodlife.com, something seems to be stirring in New York City. All indications are that she has now launched her 2016 presidential campaign. Evidence shows that now "Hillary has leased office space on a high-level floor of a corporate New York City office building, overlooking Times Square, for what sources are saying, is her campaign headquarters." as published in a recent article dated August 5, 2014 on Hollywoodlife.com.

The lease has reportedly been acquired for 2 years. At the age of 66, she now plans on moving into the new headquarters sometime during the week of August 11. Things like this most likely do not get leaked out, but it is my opinion that if this is true, that Hilary has purposely leaked this information. It will be interesting to see how the news reporters actually report this story, and if and when they ever do.

According to HollywoodLife.com reports in their article, "Her expansive new space includes nine offices, 14 workstations, one large conference room, and features modern finishes and white walls. It also features floor-to-ceiling glass doors, and windows with sweeping views of Times Square."

Also previously reported by HollywoodLife.com, back in December of 2013, "she replied that she would deliberate on her potential campaign plans "next year" - in other words, in 2014."

On another note since this information may be true, I am preparing to launch my next website located at http://www.clintoninthewhitehouse.com. Be on the lookout for it !  As was done with President Obama before he became President, I reported on his campaign before he was elected and plan to do the same if and when Hilary Clinton formally begins her campaign.

Renewed Military Action by the U.S. in Iraq

The top story in the country today is the renewed U.S. military action in Iraq. President Obama is the 4th straight President to authorize the use of American military force in Iraq.  There now has been multiple target strikes around the city of Erbil in northern Iraq.  There were 2 separate predator drone strikes on a border position where mortars were being launched as well as a strike from Navy fighter jets using eight 500 pound bombs on a convoy of seven ISUS vehicles.  Two  U.S. FA-18 fighter jets bombed a piece of ISUS artillery as well as the vehicle that was pulling it.  According the the Pentagon, ISUS was using that artillery to shell Kurdish forces that are fighting to protect Irbil, which is the Capital of Kurdistan, now finding itself under seige by ISUS forces.
The United States has dropped a second round of aid packages in the Sinjar Mountains where thousand of Yuzidies, a religious minority in Iraq have been without food and water. ISUS had cut the roads off, trying to starve the fleeing civilians to death, and threatening to kill anybody who would come out of the mountain.
It has also been recently reported that hundreds of Yuzidie women have been taken captive by ISUS.
In another news conference, the President stated that he was committed to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, in which he has done just that. But with the recent problems in Iraq, threatening the Kurds and Yuzidies, the President states that he will not put American troops on the ground. His goal is to help the Kurds defend their territories in Northern Iraq, and to help the desperate Yuzidis in the Sinjar mountains.
The President states that when many innocent people, men women and children are in danger of being wiped out by this terrorist organization, and when we have the power to do something about it, we will take action. He says this is our responsibility as Americans which is a hallmark of American leadership.
America is now helping in Iraq, but what does this really mean? Also, how long are we going to be offering this help? The answers to these two questions are not clear, but one main objective according to the President is to provide help with no American forces on the ground in Iraq.  There is also no set end date for the air strikes, as they have been authorized by the President in an open-ended basis.
The march across Iraq had began since January of this year,  and now control a wide swath of the country including parts of Syria to the west.
The United States would also use air power to protect Baghdad if ISUS threatened that city, just as the United States defended Irbil.

U.S. Humanitarian Assistance in Iraq

President Obama successfully carried out a first of possibility many humanitarian missions over Iraq, dropping rations of food and water over the Sinjar mountains located in Northwestern Iraq near the Syrian border. Forty thousand Yazidis fled to the mountains after ISUS raided their town just below the mountains. This large group of people are literally starving to death. Forty have already died because of dehydration. The reason for the mass exodus of these people from their homes is because ISUS threatened these people to the extent that they would kill anyone who did not convert to Islam. It is estimated that there are as many as 25,000 children with no access to food or water, except for the food and water dropped off by American military planes just a few hours ago.
President Obama met with his national security team. At a news conference this evening, President Obama said that he authorized two operations in Iraq. First were targeted air strikes to help protect U.S. personnel, and a humanitarian effort to help Iraqi civilians, trapped on the Sinjar mountains, surrounded by ISUS militants. Without the food and water that President Obama sent to these people, they would have faced certain death.

As President Obama stated in the recent past, the United States would be prepared to take military action if and when the situation in Iraq required it. As noted in recent days, especially with the fleeing of Iraqi citizens from their homes now hiding in the mountains. Also, ISUS is nearing the city if Erbil, where there are diplomats serving in a U.S. Consulate. If there were any threats to this Consulate, the President vows to defend it with military force. Then and only then will the President authorize 'boots on the ground'. Before any such ground mission, the President vowed to take targeted air strikes against ISUS convoys, if they decided to move closer to the city of Mosul. to protect all American interests in the country of Iraq.

ISUS continues to rein terror on Iraqi citizens, as there have been mass executions of anyone not willing to convert to Islam, to include enslavement of Yazidis women. In the recent days these men women and children have fled Sinjar for their lives. ISUS now has called for the systematic elimination of the Yazidis people which would constitute genocide, in which the President of the United States claims that we cannot just stand by and let the atrocities happen.

At the same time, the President claims that we cannot take every global situation in our own hands to help solve a specific problem, but due to the humanitarian issue that now exists on top of the mountain, the President is compelled to provide help. There has also been a mandate issued by the Iraqi government and other countries for the request for help, along with our ability to help avert a massacre. The President then says that we have a responsibility to help. As he stated, we cannot "turn a blind eye". People on Capital Hill have also pushed for American intervention regarding this Iraqi issue that is now affect tens of thousands misplaced families from their homes.

It is also expected that this first drop of food and water will not be the last. In the meantime, the President has sent several military people to help coordinate the Iraqi military to push ISUS back and away from the mountain, so that people there can return to their homes.

Prresident Obama signs a Bi-partisan VA Bill

Thursday, August 7, 2014

At Fort Belvoir, Virginia today, the President signed a Veteran's health care bill, which was passed by bi-partisan support in Congress, just before Congress left for their summer vacation. The VA Reform bill gives veterans more resources and care for the help that many of them so truly need.

The VA reform bill was passed with bi-partisan support which also begs the question as to why it took so long to get the bi-partisan bill submitted to the President. But nevertheless, the bill has passed and the President gladly signed the bill this morning. The President claims that it is a good deal, something that Veterans truly needed a long time ago. With veteran ranks growing with members from Iraq, and soon to be Afghanistan, the new bill could not have come soon enough. It will be through the test of time whether or not the bill actually addresses enough issues to make the VA process run smoothly again. The President highlighted on what the bill will actually do. Survivor benefits, educational opportunities, to improving care to veterans that experienced traumatic brain injury, but first and foremost, the bill insures that veterans have access to the care that they earned while protecting this country and fighting in foreign lands. Because of the backlog and in some cases, where veteran live that may not be near a VA facility, the President stated that specific vets will be authorized in seeking a doctor and a facility not within the VA system, thus insuring that each veteran receive the best possible care and as soon as they need it, regardless on how busy the VA doctors and hospitals are at a specific moment. Veterans that live more than 40 miles away from the nearest VA hospital or can go to a civilian hospital and acquire the care of the specific medical help that he/she needs.

During his speech, President Obama outlined some very disturbing revelations concerning health care in facilities is specific states. Longer wait times before a veteran could be seen by a doctor, sometimes when it was just too late, and in some cases more than a year, the veteran had passed away before receiving the care that he/she so desperately needed. President Obama came out and told the audience that it was wrong and outrageous. He stated how the VA will change its ways on how they do business, along with making people accountable for misconduct, and would be relieved of their duties. The wait lists are shrinking, as 215,000 veterans have been tended to since the issues with the VA have became known. Stronger management and leadership display heightened reforms that will make better the VA organization, with a new culture of accountability. People that have been directly involved hampering the VA process have been relived of their positions. The leadership team, starting with  new VA Secretary McDonald, whose first order of business is to conduct town halls throughout the country so that the VA can hear the arguments and assessments of what is going on from veterans so that specific issues that can be addressed. It demonstrates a new sense of accountability that the VA needs.

The President stated that implementing the law would take time and will require focus from everyone. As time goes on, changes may have to be made and Congress may have to approve another bill, or act to amend the current bill. The disability claims backlog has now been cut in half, but the President claims that this is actually not good enough. He states that the "backlog must be eliminated". Homeless veterans must be removed from the streets, and there needs to be a special effort to end veterans homeless. Veterans in cities and towns across America deserve to be in the facilities and homes that can take care of their needs.

The President stated that more than a million Vets and family members now have attended colleges because of the post 911 GI bill, but the question is, are these Vets getting a good bargain in the schools that they enroll in. The President has rallied around companies to hire veterans and their spouses.

Specific confirmation appointments for the VA have been hampered for over a year, and the President is urging the Senate to act on nominations. Others have been waiting for months for a yes or no vote and the Congress just seems to 'do-nothing' except not to forget to go on their vacations. Actually, it is law that Congress go out on recess for vacation in August. The Senate needs to come back in September and act to put these well deserved appointments in place. The President stated that the Veterans do not have time for politics, but they need these public servants on the job right now. Throughout his speech, the President received much applause for his statements, indicating that most people in the room were believing his every word.

The news conference to be held for the new VA bill was delayed almost an hour, and indications were that it was because the President was in meetings concerning an ISIS threat to religious rites that have now been trapped on-top of a mountain with no food or water. The number of people trapped there have been reported to be around 40,000+ innocent Iraqi's. The next article most likely will be about the developments regarding what the President may do concerning humanitarian help and if and what may be done if military exercises will be held against ISIS.
