High Expectations with Obama's Inaugural Speech

Monday, January 19, 2009

High Expectations... Those are two words that summarize the expectations of Americans of Barack Obama.

So all attention will now turn on his inaugural address to be given right after he is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Obama has studied prior President's speeches, like those of Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. He knows that this country is now in it for the long haul, as there is much work to be done to bring the country back from economic recession. He will outline his hope to rebuild the country and the dreams of the people,  bringing them back to work.
The speech will begin shortly after his swearing-in ceremony at 12:01PM, as he becomes President. You wonder what kind of speech he will give, knowing how masterful he is with words. As CNN reported, "President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural address is one of the most anticipated speeches in decades, with many expecting his words to be chiseled into marble some day." It is true that he has writers that help him with his speeches as did prior Presidents, but you just know that the majority of thought that goes into his speeches are his alone. Again.. High Expectations. Observers even expect that his speech equal or exceed the speeches by Roosevelt,Kennedy or Reagan. I don't think that Barack Obama would know how to let the nation down, so expect a truly great speech.
