Senate Votes to Repeal Obama's Health Care Legislation

Thursday, January 20, 2011

In difficult time for the Economy, the new House of Representatives did show their true colors when a vote was considered and passed to repeal the Obama signature health care legislation yesterday on January 19th. As if the Senators do not have anything else to do, they talked and then voted on a bill to overturn President Obama's health care legislation. How far do you think that this will go with President Obama. First, a vote would have to be taken in the Senate, which surely would support the legislation. If the repeal was to ever reach the President, he would most definitely pull out the 'Presidential Veto'. But in a statement by the the Majority Leader of the Senate, Mr. Harry Reid, says that he won't even allow it to reach the floor for a vote.
So this is what the new Republican led House is made up of. They will consistently try to overturn the President's legislation that was made during his tenure over the last two years.
The Senators in the House knew full well that the Democratic controlled Senate would not consider the bill, and even if they did, President Obama would veto it. In a surprise during the vote, Democratic Senators who sometimes vote more conservatively, Mr Boren, Mr. Ross and Mr McIntyre voted for the repeal.
Instead of voting against the bill, what the Senators should be doing if it is so important to them is to provide an modified health care bill that President Obama and the Senate may consider. Instead, the conservative House presented no replacement, just a vote to repeal the present bill. So here you see your tax dollars at work, being wasted by your House of Representatives in Congress just because they felt a need to talk about it. This is the kind of stuff you will see from the Republican controlled House for the next two years. It may be hard now-a-days for President Obama to pass any new liberal viewed legislation, but likewise, it will be equally difficult for the Republican controlled House to repeal any law that President Obama supports.
