Republicans Loose Steam on Defacing Obama Care
Friday, January 21, 2011
The poll numbers are in, as only 18% of the people believe that the health care bill should be repealed. Why, as stated earlier, the chances of the repeal bill to make it to the floor of the Senate is slim next to none. Besides, even if it did, the Democrats would shoot the repeal bill down, and if they didn't, then the President would surely veto it. This is a vote in the House because key Republican Senators promised to bring up a repeal bill to better their chances of getting re-elected. Ok, they were elected, and they fulfilled their promise. But did they actually fulfill their promise to the American people? Obama-care will live on, despite their futal efforts, as the bill is now stalled and will most likely be at least until a Republican President takes office, or at least when the Senate is again taken over by the Republicans. Now a surprising fact, that the main core Repubican base, even though they would like to see the bill repealed, really believe that doing it now would be a mistake that Obama did by spending too much time on the health care and not enough time focusing on other issues like jobs and the economy. Any way you look at it, the Republican base is straining their resources to gain support and popularity. Republicans may have been successful by manipulating their way into the House, but they most certainly have a long way to go to gain the full will of the people. To this point, the conservative party has yet to introduce a true front line candidate for President in 2012. Is this a way to show the people that they are serious in re-gaining the White House. But when they finally do show candidates, then it will be cut-throat time, as they will fight amongst themselves to become the Republican candidate. It happens during every election. I guess all we can do is sit back and wait to see what happens next.
