List of Murdered Victims in Tucson Arizona

Monday, January 10, 2011

The following people lost their lives in Tucson Arizona by the gun of Jared Lee Laughner, age 22 , and so far Congresswoman Giffords is not amongst them.   Here is a brief autobiography of each victim of this senseless crime.  A total of 17 people were shot in Loughner's shooting spree, and 6 of them died.

Judge John Roll - died at age 63, A United States federal judge, who had served as the chief judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. He was a Catholic. The judge was appointed to his position by George H.W. Bush in 1991. he served as chief judge from 2006 until his death in 2011.  There were three other United States Federal Judges that were murderered during their tenure in office, including John H. Wood, Jr, in 1979 in a parking lot next to his home; Richard J. Daronco, was killed by a retired New York City police office named Charles L. Koster while the judge was doing yardwork at his home; Robert Smith Vance killed by a bomb that was placed in his mail. He has been on death row since 1989.

Dorothy Morris - age 76, shot and killed by Jared Loughner, was with her husband of 55 years, a former marine at the shooting. Her husband is recovering from gunshot wounds and is alert enough to speak.

Dorwin Stoddard - age 76, husband and church leader was killed while covering and trying to protect his wive "Mavy" Stoddard, age 75, who was shot several times in the leg. They were there because they wanted to tell their Congresswoman that she was doing a great job.

Christina Taylor Green - age 9, born on 911, September 11, 2001, had gone to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' political event to "learn more about politics," according to her mother, Roxanna Green. The granddaughter of former Phillies manager Dallas Green, the 9-year old was taken to Giffords' informal town hall meeting by a neighbor who was considered her pseudo-aunt, said her mother. Born on 9/11, she used her birthdate as a source of inspiration during her short life. She was featured in a book about babies born on 9/11 called "Faces of Hope."

Phyllis Schneck - age 79, a widow, was married to Edward Schneck for 56 years, who spent lots of time with her church, and was there to meet Rep. Gabrielle Giffords because she admired her stance on border protection, and came to meet her after receiving a robo-call about the event.

Gabriel Zimmerman - age 30, the community outreach director of Giffords, and was the organizer of the event that was held at the fateful moment, called "Congress on your Corner". He earned a sociology degree and graduated with honors in 2002, was a Tucson native and social work advocate.

The people just mentioned lost their lives needlessly, by a gunman that will face murder charges for the deaths of these people. Hopefully the Congresswoman who was the gunman's main target will survive after receiving one bullet that went through her brain.
