An Iraqi throws shoes at Bush during his visit
Sunday, December 14, 2008
In a CNN video below, you can watch a news conference when President George W. Bush ducks a pair of shoes thrown by an angry Iraqi man during a press conference in Baghdad on Sunday. You would think that the Iraqi people favor the U.S. intervention to restore democracy in Iraq. For the most part, that is true, but even in a country that President Bush will be credited for helping remove terrorism and Osama bin Laden, he is still hated by many. The fact of the matter is in a war torn country, you cannot have everyone supporting your actions, especially that of George Bush. What is interesting here is that he has elected to leave the White House on his last visit to the troops in Iraq, and Barack Obama is actively trying to fit the pieces together for his new administration at home. Obama has displayed more hope for the American people in his 18 months of campaigning and pre-inauguration times, than President Bush has done in his 8 years of office.
