Barack Obama's Economic Plan to Recovery
Sunday, December 7, 2008
President-Elect Barack Obama is already asking his economic team to come up with a plan that will create or at least save more than 2 million jobs. In his weekly Youtube address displayed in the previous article, he claims that he wants to invest in the country's roads and schools and make public buildings more efficient. He wants to make money available to each of the states that they can use to fix roads, but he wants results. Each state must use the money in a reasonable time or loose the money... "use it or loose it" as he states in his speech. He claims that we must be more competitive in the world. For a country that invented the internet, we are not using it wisely. He wants hospitals to be inter-connected online. Schools would have better access to the 'super-highway also'. He believes that every child should have the ability to get online. Communication is key, in this time and age of the internet, and he feels that America is falling behind in being a leader that uses the internet wisely. He wants to make a major investment in our national infrastructore since the creation of the federal highway system in the 1950's. He claims that this would put millions of people back to work. He wants to upgrade school buildings to 21st century standards. Everyone knows that the economic recovery plan is at the top of his list, and he plans to announce other details regarding it in the upcoming weeks prior to the inauguration. His intentions are to work with the Congress when they reconvene in January.
