Michael Steele in the Hot Seat with the Republican Party
Sunday, January 10, 2010
Michael Steele, the Republican party chairman, has been taking tons of flack from members of his own party, and rumors have it that many of them are calling for him to step down.
So why are they so upset with him? Within the last few days, Chairman Steele published a book and commented that the Republican party will not take back the house in November. The Republicans now believe that the Chairman is now hurting the party more than helping it. And of all times for this to happen. During a week that saw several high-profile Democratic retirements, Steele seems to be digging himself deeper and deeper, because he is saying things that the Republican party just does not support. The direction that he is taking eventually will lead towards his resignation as the Republican Chairman.
Now the question is posed, who would take his place? Maybe he will be able to keep his job, but it will be interesting to see if he continues with his predictions about the inability of his own party to take the Senate in November.
