Clinton and Bush to Team Up in Haiti Support Effort
Monday, January 18, 2010
Most people have the right heart when they hear and talk about the natural disaster that turned Haiti in ruins. But now there are two distinguished past Presidents, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush who are uniting to create the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, a major fund raising effort for victims of Tuesday's earthquake led by Clinton and former President George W. Bush. Clinton is preparing to meet with Haitian President Rene Preval, his government and aid workers to discuss how to proceed with recovery operations. The announcement of the fund came two days ago, but I now find it kind of odd to see President Bush so pro-active in helping victims of Haiti, when he didn't seem to give much help to the native Americans in New Orleans during the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina. Why does he have a change of heart. I must apologize to some of the readers of this blog who support the ideals of President Bush, but I honestly think that he is doing just too little way too late. Yes, he wants to help the world now, but what about the people of New Orleans. Maybe he still doesn't get it. The state still has not fully recovered. People have lost their homes and all of their belongings, including loved ones. Some of these people still are suffering from what had happened almost a decade ago.
