Sarah Palin - No Longer Governor of Alaska?!?! What is she thinking ?

Sunday, July 5, 2009

The conservative party has been trying to stay afloat now ever since the astounding defeat of Senator John McCain in the Presidential election, but since then, nothing more astounding has taken place then what has happened on Friday within the Republican party. In a very risky move, Sarah Palin has decided to step down as governor of Alaska, with still 18 months in her term.

But why? She won the position fair and square, and the state of Alaska adored her. What does that mean for her possible run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination? Don't ask her fellow republicans, as they don't know what to think of it, except to call it astounding and risky. They even call her a quitter. If she does plan to run for the GOP nomination, this decision would be kind of risky. For the next 3 1/2 years, the media will feed on her in a frensy, following her every move, trying to determine if she actually will run or not, what she is made of, and is she really a quitter. She felt the next 18 months she would be a lame duck governor, not being able to get much done. Since it is now known that she didn't plan to run for a second term, one can only guess her true motives for leaving her governorship in the state of Alaska.
One can only speculate. As an example, did she quit because she wants to spend all of her time and effort to become the GOP Presidential nominee? Different people from the conservative and liberal parties alike claim that such a move as this will do all but condemn her from being able to run. Did she quit because of family issues? Because of the failed presidential election, and even during the election, she had no personal life and maybe she now realizes that a very public life is not for her how.
Whatever the reasons, the Republican party is dumbfounded, and now must realize that they may not be looking her way to lead in the 2012 election.
