Democrats Already Favored to Win in 2016

Monday, November 19, 2012

Why does it seem to always be an uphill battle for the Republicans every election, excluding the policies of each party? Before the voting even begins each election year, there are a certain number of states, namely 18 that traditionally vote Democrat. Here is the  'blue' list and  a main reason why the Democrats may win again in 2016 unless a qualified, well liked, viable candidate for the Republican nominee is found.

Maryland
Delaware
Pennsylvania
New Jersey
New York
Connecticut
Rhode Island
Massachusetts
Vermont
Maine
California
Oregon
Washington State
Hawaii
Illinois
Michigan
Minnesota
Wisconsin

Besides the 18 states listed above, add the District of Columbia. So right from the start, the Democratic nominee, and in this case President Obama, had a start of 242 electoral votes before even campaigning. All that was needed is a mere 28 electoral votes. Many people who watch the elections for the first time during an election are not aware of that. What they may be aware of is that the Republicans knowing these facts tried to steal the states of Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Michigan during the election this year, but failed to do so. They did not have many options.
In the case of President Obama, he was worried loosing some of those traditional 'blue' states, because of his limited successes and failures in his first term, along with the lies spilled out by the Republican campaign about the Democratic candidates. The President was only hovering around 50% in popularity overall, but to his advantage, he was extremely popular among the middle class, mainly blacks and Hispanics along with a majority of women voters.
The choices and beliefs of the Republican party and the presidential candidate this year, Mitt Romney made it easy for President Obama to regain the White House for the second term with ease.
Now the Republican party is in need of a new leader, new policies and a new referendum to run on. The beginning of the Presidents second term begins very soon, so it really is not in the mainstream Republican's idea to wait until the next election in 2016 takes place. Yes, they will not have to contend with President Obama as he will be ineligible to run for a 3rd term. At the top of the list already in mention is the present Democratic Vice-President Joe Biden, and the present Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton. For the short term, the Republicans already know the status of each of these 2 people for the next four years. Vice President Biden will continue to be the Vice-President, no surprise  Hilary Clinton plans to retire in January, and talks are that President Obama may nominate Susan Rice, who is already being strongly opposed by Senator John McCain. In another botched attempt to put down a good person for a nomination, Senator McCain will prove how he continues to spoil possible future Republican chances for successful elections in the future. Instead of concentrating on what will be necessary to beat the next Democratic candidate in 2016, he continues to wage a war against someone who is extremely qualified for the job of Secretary of State, instead of going after President Obama. Time will only tell if John McCain fights with President Obama if Susan Rice is nominated by the President.

Who will be the next Republican nominee for President? Will it be John McCain, Sarah Palin, or how about Paul Ryan? Mitt Romney will never get a renomination from the Republicans. How about Marco Rubio, or is he even qualified to run?! How about Governor Bobby Jindal from Louisiana. Jindal overlooked possibilities of a vice-presidential candidate with John McCain in 2008 and with Mitt Romney in 2012. Who else is qualified to run? So what the republicans need to do is decide who may run against a Democrat in 2016 or soon they may be looking at the possibility of not having a good candidate for 2016. Oh yes, don't let me forget about Rick Santurum who almost beat Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination this year. Truthfully, I'm hoping that Rick Santorum is picked in 2016, because the win for the Democrats will in the bag again for the next election and possibly for the 2020 election if Santorum becomes the nominee for the Republicans in the next campaign.

Republican Presidential Race Shaping up or shipping out

Monday, May 23, 2011

Tim Pawlenty
Today, Tim Pawlenty, former Minnesota governor, made the announcement that he will run as a candidate for the Republican nominee for President. This may be good and this may be bad, but in the case of the Republicans, it may be the only good announcement so far. Mitch Daniels, in my mind is the almost perfect candidate for the Republican nomination, and actually considered a better candidate by many than the well known Mitt Romney, but now Mr. Daniels also has decided not to run. Will President Obama have any competition? Prior to Tim Pawlenty's announcement that he will be running, Mitch Daniels claims that his family has been consistent in their desire for him not to run and he wants to respect their opinion. As Mitch Daniels is first a family man at heart, he has decided to pass the opportunity with the claim that his family is more important. Actually what he doesn't say is that he doesn't have the heart to run. In a 'Meet to Press' show on Sunday 5/22/2011, there is a would-be but not-to-be candidate in the likes of Paul Ryan, as it was discussed in his interview. The main talk of discussion was about what was said about him and his Medicare plan by Newt Gingrich. In the midst of the conversation, Paul Ryan was asked if he planned on running for President, but to the dismay of the interviewer, looking for another main Republican story two weeks in a row, was told by Paul Ryan that he had no intentions of running. Instead, another forget-me candidate by the name of Herman Cain, age 65 from Memphis Tennessee, former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, and presently a newspaper columnist has made an announcement that he is running. He join the ranks of the likes of Ron Paul, who says he's running, but really still not sure which party he wants to run for. He claims that he wants to run as a Republican, but he may have a better chance running as an independent, and even then, still wouldn't have enough to actually get a chance to face Obama in the general election. As reported, now we have a handful of candidates, all wishfuls that want to be President. In the mean time, there is still another person running that hasn't a chance in hell to gain the nomination, Newt Gingrich, and he doesn't even have enough sense to know that he actually is finished before he started. He is still campaigning in Iowa. There is another probable candidate that hasn't made the formal announcement yet that he will be running. His name is none other than Mitt Romney. In recent days, he has highly criticized President Obama's comments and some of his decisions as President. Apparently, Mitt Romney wants to see what he's up against before he announces that he is a candidate. When he does, everyone so far to this point will not even have a chance, except for possibly Tim Pawlenty who has allot of work to do. And how about possible other candidates, the ones still left to announce. Jon Huntsman and Michelle Bachman and and another spoiler, Sarah Palin all have some baggage that will become known to the American people if they do decide to run, but out of the three, Jon Huntsman may be a good contender, especially if he must fight for the nomination against Mitt Romney. So the final four, Mitt Romney, Michelle Bachman, Tim Polenty and Jon Huntsman. Another dark horse, the old mayor of New York, Rudy Guiliani, still hasn't said that he will not run, but it's expected that he will make the announcement. My guess is that he will not run. Who has the money-bags that could compete with Mitt Romney and hold his own. No-one yet.
So what does the Republican party do now. Actually, the party is at the mercy of the candidates, or shall I say who may be left to run. Out of all of them, how do they stack against Obama. As I see it now, President Obama still doesn't have any real competition from the Republican party. With all of the money Mitt had during the 2008 election, he still couldn't compete against his former rival Mike Huckabee and John McCain, who both lasted longer than he did in the primary elections. John McCain, the Republican favorite will not run, and most likely Sarah Palin will not run either. If the Republicans cannot get their own house in order and decide who they really want as president, then it looks as if President Obama may end up being a 2 term President, thanks to the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot. Oh my, what will the conservative talk show hosts say now if President Obama gets re-elected. Rush Limbaugh and Mike Levin will probably disown their own party.

GOP Needs to grow up, get back to work

Saturday, March 27, 2010

The Republicans are acting suprised that the Democrats snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by passing health care reform. They are also making statements that show the want for non-bipartisan cooperation by the Republicans. Senator John McCain who normally works with Democrats on certain things, now believes that the Republican party will no longer cooperate with Democrats because of the passage of health care. No that sounds pretty dumb....

Excuse me !!!! John McCain seems to be indicating here that his conservative party cooperated in the recent healh care reform vote. But obviously, not one single Republican voted for the bill. McCain said: "There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year. Senator McCain is suggesting here that his party will now stop any future legislation proposed by Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. Wake up John.... If you recall during this past election on health care reform, not one Republican voted for the bill, and it still passed. How and why? The fate of the bill was left in the hands of Democratic Conservatives, but at the end, the border Democrats sided with their own party, supported them, and the Democats won without 1 single vote by the Republicans in support of the bill.

Now look what's happening with McCain. His running mate in the Presidential election, Sarah Palin, is now supporting John McCain as his bid for re-election begins. The defeatists are supporting each other. Now that's a nice piece of work.

Obama and the people that hate him

Monday, August 3, 2009

I read several articles lately, similar to the ones  forwarded to me regarding Obama, and what he is doing to the economy. Being the editor of the 'Obama in the White house blog', I can tell you that I hear comments from both side of the fence. I receive emails every week at 'obamainthewhitehouse.usa.gmail.com' from people who claim they love the blog and support our President, and get almost as many emails that are basically against Obama and his policies.   To be honest with you, I don't like how things are right now either. Jobs seem to be non-existent, regardless of how President Obama states that the job market will recover.

People are inpatient. Obama did say that this recovery process would not happen overnight. The people of this country elected this man president, and whether you like it or not, he will be the president for at least another 3 years until 2012. Then guess what. If the opposition party (conservatives or so called Republicans) don't wake up and stop whining about every thing under the sun, and find a good Presidential running candidate to run against Obama in 2012, and if Obama's plans work to get people back to work, and the economy turns around, then he most likely will be around for another 4 years regardless of how deep in debt this country is.

Now I'll tell you why he should be re-elected. The opposition party (Republicans/conservatives) are in disarray. They have no clear leader. Even their vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin dropped out of politics by relinquishing her governorship last week. She stepped down because she couldn't take the heat. She felt that she couldn't do anything constructive as a lame duck governor. How many lame duck presidents quit? Every president becomes a lame duck President especially during his 7 and/or 8th years as president. But none of them resigned.  Palin's chances are very slim now to gain a Republican nomination for President. Will McCain run? I doubt it. Obama should be re-elected because there will be no Republican or opposition party that will be able to overturn his legislation that he creates by 2012. People hate him because they feel that he is destroying the country. Obama has his $700 trillion and the people who want some of it have to go by his rules. I'd say he is pretty much in control here.
So what does the opposition do.. They whine, and whine and whine. Talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Mark Lavin have nothing good to say about President Obama. They honestly feel in their minds that he is destroying the country. Yet, they can do nothing to contribute to the betterment of the country. They cannot say anything constructive to help the country.  All they can do is stir up the people, and for what means. What will happen? Yes, people will get educated and will better understand both sides of the fence, but I honestly believe that shows like Rush and Mark create more terrany. All they know how to do, especially Mark Lavin is whine and whine. On the Obama website, I will give people from both sides of the fence a chance to state their beliefs, as long as they write grammatically correct and I deam them publishable. If you would like to get your comments on the website, leave a comment that can be left after any one of the articles. It can be published as an article.
Some people hate Obama because of what he stands for. Even his colleagues in the Democratic party would agree that he is the most 'Left', or the most liberal president of all time. They hate him for that.
Some people like Rush Limbaugh openly state that they want President Obama to 'fail'. Does he look like he is failing? Some people thought he would not be a strong President? Has any other President in recent times ever stuck their neck out as much as Obama, try to do so much at once and still get all of his major legislation passed? The answer is no. Even President Clinton tried to pass a health care reform bill in his term, but he was unsuccessful. President Obama is well on the road to have a health care reform bill passed in October.

Some people hate him for having a beer on the White House lawn. Camera crews were taking pictures and movies of the whole scene this past week.

Some people hate him for communicating with countries that prior presidents wouldn't dare do.

Some people hate him because he fired the top executive of GM. Some people believe he has over-stepped his power.

What the haters fail to realize here is that there are many more people that like him than hate him. Again, the opposition is outnumbered. I'm not saying that this will not change if things don't get better for everyone, but for these non-believers that think that President Obama is doing such a lousy job, then why don't you get someone to run against him. So instead of whining about what is happening, they should get a good opponent ready to opose Obama in 2012. Because if they are unsuccessful in getting a good candidate to run against Obama, I believe it will be the beginning of the end for the Republican party.

Sarah Palin - No Longer Governor of Alaska?!?! What is she thinking ?

Sunday, July 5, 2009

The conservative party has been trying to stay afloat now ever since the astounding defeat of Senator John McCain in the Presidential election, but since then, nothing more astounding has taken place then what has happened on Friday within the Republican party. In a very risky move, Sarah Palin has decided to step down as governor of Alaska, with still 18 months in her term.

But why? She won the position fair and square, and the state of Alaska adored her. What does that mean for her possible run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination? Don't ask her fellow republicans, as they don't know what to think of it, except to call it astounding and risky. They even call her a quitter. If she does plan to run for the GOP nomination, this decision would be kind of risky. For the next 3 1/2 years, the media will feed on her in a frensy, following her every move, trying to determine if she actually will run or not, what she is made of, and is she really a quitter. She felt the next 18 months she would be a lame duck governor, not being able to get much done. Since it is now known that she didn't plan to run for a second term, one can only guess her true motives for leaving her governorship in the state of Alaska.
One can only speculate. As an example, did she quit because she wants to spend all of her time and effort to become the GOP Presidential nominee? Different people from the conservative and liberal parties alike claim that such a move as this will do all but condemn her from being able to run. Did she quit because of family issues? Because of the failed presidential election, and even during the election, she had no personal life and maybe she now realizes that a very public life is not for her how.
Whatever the reasons, the Republican party is dumbfounded, and now must realize that they may not be looking her way to lead in the 2012 election.

Palin: US Military Needs To Go On "Offense"

Saturday, June 13, 2009

FROM 'EYES OF OBAMA' BLOG
Posted By jwilkes - Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at 4:26 PM

Continuing her media blitz of late, Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican Vice
Presidential nominee Sarah Palin stopped by Wolf Blitzer's Situation Room.
Ostensibly, Palin doesn't really need a reason to be doing interviews at this point,
despite being nothing more than one of 50 governors with no particularly newsworthy
distinction (ironically, she's become every bit the "celebrity" she derided Obama
for being). But with every interview she gives, its difficult to overlook the air of
self-promotion, the feel of a candidate-in-waiting.

That's why it was a little surprising... strike that, it wasn't surprising. That's
why it was interesting to hear "Sarah Barracuda" make this blunder:

"We need to do everything we can with our military to show that we're strong on
offense."

Call it a misstatement if you want, but President Obama would have been put through
the ringer for it.

Our military doesn't go on "offense." it defends our borders and those of our
allies. "Offense" means provoking or starting an all-out military assault. What's
worse is when the comment is taken in context: Palin and Blitzer were discussing
what the US's response should be to North Korea's recent test launches of long-range
missiles.

I'd stop short of saying Palin would advocate a preemptive strike on North Korea.
But if her comment serves one purpose, it's to underscore her frightening lack of
foreign policy experience, or even- for that matter- foreign policy perspective. And
it also signifies what Palin-diplomacy might look like: the same sort of
first-strike doctrine that got us mired in Iraq (because Bush officials argued that
Iraq posed an immediate threat to the US and it's allies).

There's a time for military action- when diplomatic channels have failed. That's why
presidents from Kennedy to Reagan never jumped the gun- because if, at any point
during the Cold War- either side had gone on "offense," this world would be an
awfully different place.

And this woman wants to be president?

Vice Presidential Debate - October 2, 2008

Thursday, October 2, 2008

In just a few short hours, the Vice Presidential Nominees Sarah Palin and Joe Biden will take stage on location at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Even being just a vice-presidental debate, the outcome of the election can in a sense be decided, especially if Sarah Palin doesn't do well. But until it happens, noone can really say that she could not be a vice presidential candiate. She can actually give John McCain a shot in the arm and raise John McCain's ratings by a good performance. Many people claim that she lacks leadership, but being the maverick that John McCain is, he is staking his election on her ability to act as Vice President. She is an excellent debater, as proof when she won the Govornorship of Alaska. Her acceptance speech at the Republican Convention this year was also proof that she can handle her own. The question will be if she can answer questions accurately from Gwen Ifill, who is the moderator and managing editor of "Washington Week" on PBS.
Joe Biden, on the other hand has his tasks set for the evening. He should be directing his comments against John McCain, as he knows him well and likewise, Sarah Palin should direct statements against Barack Obama. Whoever wins the Presidential election on November 4th, will automatically take along their running mate as vice-president. So this debate should be about national and foreign policy, and directed against the Presidential Candidates. We will just have to see if Sarah Palin can hold her own during this debate. If she does not, John McCain can and will be further criticized and more and more people will insist that she step down as his running mate. That would be a disaster for McCain, as he then would be admitting making a critical wrong decision in the election. Only time will tell.
After this Vice-Presidential debate, there will be two more Presidential debates between John McCain and Barack Obama, the 2nd debate on October 7th in Nashville, Tennessee, and the final debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Just a little over 4 weeks to go before the general election on November 4th, 2008.
