As reported by CNN, the two woman journalists Laura Ling (right) and Euna Lee (left) have been convicted with "12 years of reform through labor" in prison. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton says the United States is using "every possible channel" to seek the release of two journalists that were sentenced in the North Korean courts. The trial, which was conducted in secret with no observers becomes the concern. No one knows if there is any early release in the Korean penal system.
It is my opinion that the North Korean's may be using the two woman as trump cards to keep President Obama at bay regarding the nuclear tests and launchings that have been going on for some time now, and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton claims that North Korea is now very close to be reinstated on the terrorist nation list. Clinton told reporters she would not discuss "private diplomatic efforts." But she said Washington views the case as something separate from the ongoing diplomatic standoff over North Korea's nuclear arms program.
