Chris Coons apears to Win Debate against Repulican Opponent Chris O"Donnell for Delaware Senate Seat

Thursday, October 14, 2010

In a well publicized debate on Wednesday night, Republican Senata candidate Christine O'Donnell had a pretty tuff time against Chris Coons for the Delaware U.S. Senate seat that has been held for nearly 40 years by Vice President Joe Biden. At the present time, the Vice-Presidents aide Ted Kaufman was named as an interm replacement, and did not seek a full term.
Chris O'Donnell, the tea party contender that beat out the favored Republican contender shook up the Republican party establishment last month. Prior to the primary results, it was expected that Chis O'Donnells opponent would win, and pose a greater chance of winning against Coons, but this did not happen. Instead, the Republicans now must depend on their present candidate Chris O'Donnell, who is a now a big underdog in the race for Delaware Senator. The Republican candidate was on the attack, but seems  unfortunate for her party to have come up short with convincing people of her stance against Coons in most recent polls. The Republcian now seems to be putting a smear campaign together in desperate hopes in pulling voters away from Coons. Again, this attack now raises dozens of questions that she must now answer in her criticism over Coons, which will take the spotlight away from her and towards Coons.
It is actually still very early to tell, but early indications seem to make it impossible for O'Donnell to beat Coons. The Republican candidate has more money to spend in the election process, but Coons has President Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden on his side who will be going to Delaware to campaign for Chris Coons.
It appears that the Democratic candidate Chris Coons was the winner in the televised debate on CNN. It appears that the Republican party worse fear for the mid-term elections may come true. Tea party candidates most likely will hurt the Republican's chances to gain seats in both the House and Senate in 2010.
