79 Days until Inauguration Day - January 20, 2009
With just one single day to go before the next President of the United States is elected, the candidates are going full steam in attempt to win over as many voters as possible Still, the polls show that Barack Obama is way ahead in the race, concerning the electoral vote pre-counts. Of course the real electoral votes for this election will be tallied by tomorrow evening, and then we will know who will be inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States On January 20, 2009.
Neither candidate is giving up without a fight, although it is agreed by most people that John McCain is fighing an uphill battle to gain votes. As previously reported in the last article, Barack Obama made extensive efforts to get new voters to sign up to vote and it looks like it is paying off. So far up to this date, there has been at least 20 million people that voted prior to election day. That is a staggering number of people, and the majority has already been determined as Democrat. If that is true and the trend of expected voters and electoral votes keeps on the path of Barack Obama, he should win the election with an unprecedented victory over John McCain. Of course, the polls prior to the actual general election on November 4th are just predicted vote tallies, and factors that can be unannounced to us now may become factors that would ultimately sway the outcome of the race.
Still there is one more day of hard campaigning by both contenders. Barack Obama will spend his very last day of his 22 month presidential campaign beginning in Jacksonville, Florida and an event in Charlotte, North Carolina. The finale will be the end of the trail on election night in a special event in Manassas, Virginia.
A few states that normally go to the Republicans like Florida and North Carolina, as voters leaning towards supporting Barack Obama this year.
Also on the trail, Michelle Obama and Joe Biden are campaigning on the very last day before the election. Michelle meets with voters in Nevada and
Colorado, while Joe Biden campaigns in Missouri, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
