President Obama stated that the lives lost in the accident will not be in vane. The President said that our task here on earth is to prevent more lives to be lost in such a tragedy. He claims that we must do to insure safe conditions under ground. President Obama said " God bless our miners, God bless their families, God bless West Virginia, and God bless the United States of America."
Besides the President honoring the lost miners, there is an ongoing investigation as to what actually caused the accident, but the actual findings may not come forth for some time, as the mine is filled with deadly methane gas. Surely out of all of this tragedy, sticter guidelines will have to be followed to prevent another accident such as this to happen in the future.
