Who is Favored to Win the Presidency - Obama or Romney?

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Are you tired about all the hype on polls?  Regardless of who you think is favored in the race now after just two debates, one between the presidential candiates and the one between the vice-presidential candidates, most of the major polls show that the two candidates are running in almost a dead tie, unless you dig deeper and check the real facts.

Here are the facts....

1 - Usually the undecided voters will most likely vote for the challenger (Romney)

2 - Obama is more "likeable" than Romney  - 60% for Obama, 31% Romney according to a USA Today/Gallup poll. More likeable candidates win election at least 70% of the time.

3 - Obama holds a significant lead among women voters over Romney. 6 out of 10 women favor Obama. A Quinnipiac University poll shows that Romney is beat by Obama amongst women voters when it comes to Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania from 6 to 19 percentage points.

4 - Minority voters prefer Obama - A Pew Research poll shows that Romney is even liked less than McCain was among Hispanics, at least 27%.

5 - Romney is believed to have better business polls according to a USA Today/Gallup poll, but only by 3 percentage points 46% to 43%.

6 - Romney is favored with handling the economy by 61% to 52% for Obama.

7 - A Rasmussen Report poll released back in May showed that the country is headed into the wrong direction.

8 - Obama and Romney show to now be in a statistical tie in the state of Ohio.

9 - Romney leads Obama in Florida, according to another Quinnipiac survey, while Obama holds a lead by some 8 points in Pennsylvania.

10 - A long standing fact is that no candidate has ever won the presidency without at least winning 2 out of the 3 states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Polls during the last 30 days may not change much, but it appears that the remaining two debates may have a deciding factor when it comes to the undecided voters. On a down note, some states have been trying to stop early voting and not allow others to vote even though they have qualified for dozens of years in the past. Recently, the courts have struck down the ideas in the states, but the Republicans have been successfull in distilling a scare factor in some voters which will keep them away from the polls.
With all of the poll data, what may actually happen is that the President may run away with some states that have always voted Republican. But the main states to watch are Pennsylvania, Florida and the one to really watch is Ohio. Whoever wins Ohio should win the Presidency.

Are the new Jobs Numbers a Conspiracy – Unemployment now under 8%?

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

One person who didn't play along with the conspiracy was Mitt Romney. But he did put out a statement playing down the new numbers. He said, “ This is not what a real recovery looks like”. Romney says that the number -7.8% is bad. The conspiracy crazys said that the numbers were published to make President Obama look good. The fact remains, conservatives have been shoving these unemployment rate numbers to the President's face for the last 3 and ½ years, now it's come back to bite them. They all said that the unemployment rate would never go below 8%. They hate the new numbers. They can't stand it. Why? Because it is success under Obama. But if it would have worked for them (Republicans), then it's the truth. If it works against them, you know what it is.... a conspiracy, a lie, but what it truly is, is pathetic.
Do you want a real conspiracy? How about this.... An entire political party in Washington D.C. has spent nearly 4 years making sure that NO legislation or plan or action was taken on jobs. When President Obama approached them with solutions to get people to go back to work, they (Republicans) rejected them immediately. They said NO. They even said in public that their number one goal was to make Barack Obama a one term President. When they executed their strategy, they damaged the country. Do you call that economic patriotism?

There were nearly 700,000 public sector job losses since 2009, and most of them sadly are teachers. If you look at the major sectors of the economy right now, there is growth all over the place in all areas except one, and that is construction jobs.

Now think about this. If the 'American Jobs Act' was considered and not voted down by Republicans, they would have added nearly 2 million construction jobs. Where would the unemployment report have been then if they passed the bill?

The September jobs report is not a conspiracy. It's just allot of indigestion by the Republicans and it is insulting to hard working Americans to say that it is a conspiracy. Republicans have engaged in something more worse in the last four years. They tried to hurt the country for their own political gain. They did damage to the economic system of this country. They hurt families. They held us back and now they ultimately failed. So can we officially call this a 'Democratic Recovery'. The history books need to record this as one of the most destructive times in political American history and if it weren't for the Democrats, we wouldn't of had 31 months of private sector growth or job growth of 5,000,000 jobs. Be fair minded about this. This is not a conspiracy. The bottom line, Republicans are not capable of embracing good news for Americans.

Obama's Debate Preformance Behind Him, LOOK OUT Mitt Romney!

Monday, October 8, 2012

Obama drew criticism from Democrats last week for being what some described as listless, lethargic and ill-prepared in his match-up against Republican challenger Mitt Romney. The President even admits to it, but brushes it off. Yes, he had a bad day, and I'm sure that he had what he might have considered something more important to do for the evening, and that was to celebrate his 20th wedding aniversary with his wife, the First Lady Michelle. But he did not get to celebrate his aniversary with his wife that night, nor did he get any respect from the challenger Mitt Romney. There are 2 more Presidential debates scheduled and one Vice-Preidential debate left before the election. The controversy concerning President Obama's performance will be short lived. Yes, the President is guilty for not being prepared from a candidate that has been practicing his whole life for that moment to debate against him. The next debate, which will be in a town hall meeting setting, will be one of President Obama's best performances. The President has world recognition when it comes to his leadership around the world. His record, with ending one war in Iraq and another to follow after he gets re-elected in Afghanistan, along with his killing of the number one terrorist in the world, Osama bin-Laden, is a pretty good feather in the Presidents hat. World leaders  respect the President and most foreign leaders say that the decision is still out whether Mitt Romney will act properly on foreign policy, and will see if Romney has the unwavering ability to support or allies and countries around the world who want peace, no matter how they stood regarding democracy in the past.
Mitt Romney's answers sounded good to the listeners that evening, but for the most part lacked substance. His only claim is that since he considers himself a great businessman, he knows what it takes to get the economy back on it's feet. But no doubt, if elected, he will make promises that he can't keep. He can blame the unemployment rate on the President, he can also blame the economy on him, but the record is all that you need to look at when it comes to the President.
President Obama has backed several bills that made it through the U.S. Congress, but failed to pass, mainly because of the selfish interests of the Republicans in the House. Bills that would have brought thousands of jobs, and maybe even a million or two, were put down by a Congress set to do everything in their power to make the President look bad. Instead, they are the ones that look bad. If the President gets re-elected, you can expect several veto's come their way when it comes to bills that they sponsor. The President now has nothing to loose. He will continue to push for jobs for the middle class and build the economy, and the Republican House if still a majority body will feel the pain from the President, unless they pass some of the President's bills.
The country cannot survive another 4 years with a House and Senate divided and not capable of passing bills.
Just before the last holiday, the Congress failed to pass the 'farms bill' and then immediately decided to leave Washington for a long recess. Their jobs were not done. But they left anyway.
The most recent polls show that Mitt Romney is in a statistical dead tie with the President on most fronts, but most likely not on the ones that count. The facts are that whoever wins the State of Ohio or Florida in November most likely will win the election. No candidate that did not win Ohio has  won the Presidency. At the present time, Ohio should be won by Obama, and with all of the retirees and seniors in Florida, the Democrats will win that state too. That will make it virtually impossible for Mitt Romney to win the election if he wins either state.
So yes, the debates are important, but if Mitt Romney thinks that he will get another performance from President Obama like the last, he will be sadly mistaken. The President will be prepared, and it will be interesting to watch Romney on the defensive this go around, because if that truely becomes the case, then he will loose the debate. No doubt that Mitt Romney is an excellent speaker. His problem is that he flip-flops on the issues and in my opinion, it is now time for the President to call Romney up on the flip-flop issues, along with the outward lies that the Republicsns including Mitt Romney himself stated during the last debate.
The first debate was just a warm up. The next debate will be one for Mitt Romney to take lessons from.
