Obama says 'Pat Downs' are Necessary
Sunday, November 21, 2010
As President Obama is still traveling on one of his largest foreign trips to date, the president states that is is necessary to have the TSA agents at airports to help prevent the possibility of someone carrying weapons on an airplane. Appearently the metal detector has proven not to be 100% effective, as these so called pat downs are used in most every airport. An excuse for having these agents is to protect the Airlines for terrorism and to keep passangers safe. Pat downs are one thing, but full body scans are another. Some people consider it an invasion of privacy. One of the reasons for the searches by TSA is because of the situation and threat that occurred on Christmas day last year.
As expected, there is much public outrage, especially from the Republicans that believe that President Obama is totally out of touch with the people now.
Even though the president approves of the method in place, he feels that at this time there just is no other way, but has assed the Transportation Security Administration to try and come up in a less obtrusive way for a search.
