Unemployment Rate spiking to at least 10 Percent Very Soon

It is a now known fact that the unemployment rate will spike to at least 10 percent in the next couple of months. This prediction was by President Obama himself, as he makes claim that until people start working again, the jobless rates will continue to spike. Now at 9.4 percent in the month of May, the unemployment rate is the highest in the past 25 years. Unfortunately, the analysts are claiming that the unemployment rate will not go down any time soon, and expects the high rates to continue to spike until the economy starts to pick up. The number one indicator which shows the status of the country's economic condition is the job market. When people start working, the economy will surely be on its way back, as people will again start buying merchandise, massaging the country with an influx of money.

Obama's Popularity is Dropping.. to a new low.. Not Unexpected

As predicted even before he was elected President, Obama made some very hard decisions as to how he was going to implement policies, especially the ones that would not be popular with the American people. Nevertheless, he was elected President of the United States, in an unprecedented and historic election where the American people elected a black president.
So now the honeymoon is truly over, as President Obama is now watching his high levels of popularity decline. The American people now have significant doubts about his initiatives, and have decided to support different agendas and different policies that they must have supported before. Why? Maybe because they were thinking that reform would help the country over night. The president has been in office just half of his first year, and now people believe that they need to see things get better already. They do not have the patience that they must have because the situation is too serious and requires difficult legislation that must pass a congress who is closely scrutinizing everything that comes their way. Yet, the approval rating according to the Rasmussen Reports show a 56%-43% approval rating. At least a third disapprove of the president's performance. It appears that he has no Republican support and a good chunk of his Independent support seems to be slipping away from him.
People are upset. Many have lost their jobs, their retirement savings, along with not having health insurance to protect their families.
President Obama is not ignoring the problems, and has said repeatedly that the cure to such a disastrous world we live in today has been found, but will take a while for the cure to take effect. The job market is worsening, and the stock markets are continuing to decline. But according to Obama, the market must drop before it rises and it will take time for this country to retire.
The situation is bleak right now, but nevertheless, President Obama is doing his best to provide legislation to get the country back on its feet. He had to assist with the bailout of banks, automakers and big businesses.
Patience is a virtue here that is completely true in this case. People must be patient for the economy to turn around. What everyone must realize is that everyone is involved in this economic crises, rich and poor alike.

President Obama signs Legislation today that Regulates the Sale and Marketing of Tabacco

The Food and Drug Administration on Monday has been given new power to regulate the sales and marketing of tobacco. So what does that mean? Are cigarettes now banned for use in the United States? Of course not, but this new legislation known as the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act gives the FDA the right to ban candy-flavored and fruit-flavored cigarettes. Companies can no longer use terms such as "low tar,""light" or "mild," and the warning labels on packages must be larger. Tobacco companies are restricted from advertising their products.
Actually, Obama is not the first president to push for such legislation, as this legislation has been in the making for for several decades.
One of the reasons why there has been a steady push to outlaw tobacco is because no matter how much people are educated, especially children, they will not do what is best for their health, without serious help from their parents. Unfortunately, the parents of these child smokers will not enforce a non smoking policy in their household. Because of the laxed thinking of Americans regarding smoking, on an average approximately 400,000 Americans still die each year from tobacco products.
What seems to be interesting is the idea that most Americans oppose the law according to a Gallup Poll released on Monday. Fifty two percent, including mostly smokers oppose the measure, while 46 percent support it. Even though the president is happy for the new legislation, he also knows how difficult it is for teenagers to stop smoking, because he was one of them as he smoked in the past himself as a teenager.
